Chapter 441 - An Intense Battle

"Don't shoot! It's us!"

Jason and the rest of the group came out. They had all used a lot of ammunition, so they immediately moved to reload the long magazines of their P90s.

"We need to find a way so we can go down and clear all the floors quickly and safely."

"We just need more ballistic shields and for the people at the front to be ready for when we have to move forward."

This time, Jason organized a larger group of people, and a third of them carried ballistic shields. This time, he would take fifteen people to the sixth floor, which was where the biggest problem was.

"Let's contain the walkers from the elevator door. Nothing will happen if we can hold them off calmly from this point!"

Ding!

With twice as many people, Jason was now confident they could do it faster and without many problems.

When the elevator door opened, the previous scene reappeared. The difference was that now there were more ballistic shields forming a line in front of the group, and the people behind them killed the walkers with clean shots.

"Fire!"

Jason roared and pulled the trigger first.

Bang Bang Bang!

It was like a signal, and the people around him joined the battle after seeing him shoot.

There was no need to aim at all—the rotten faces were only a few meters away. Almost all of those heads exploded, and the visual impact of the brain bursts made everyone's adrenaline surge.

But the gunshots also attracted all the walkers in the hallway.

The soldiers on both sides, struggling to hold the numerous ballistic shields, felt a sudden increase in pressure, and their feet began to slip.

"I can't—I can't hold it anymore!"

Jason also saw their situation and shouted loudly, "Hold on, soldiers!"

After speaking, he directly raised the rifle hanging from his neck and switched to burst mode.

Bang Bang Bang Bang!

The walkers at the front dropped to the ground in masses, which also eased some of the pressure on those holding the ballistic shields.

The walkers lunged at the soldiers with astonishing speed. The soldiers responded quickly, firing their weapons and slashing with their knives to defend themselves. Jason led the group, giving precise instructions on how to move and fight.

It was true that some of these walkers had red eyes, but with their weakened strength, it was not a problem for Jason's people to eliminate them.

Bang Bang Bang!

"Keep pushing, don't fall back."

Welles was one of the most outstanding in this battle. With great bravery, he faced all the walkers and led part of the group to continue advancing.

Out of this entire group of the undead, only a minority posed a real threat, so it was not very complicated to eliminate them all.

But the soldiers were not intimidated. They moved with grace and skill, aiming at the walkers' weak points to eliminate them with precision.

Despite the difficulties, the soldiers did not give up. They knew they were on an important mission and would not allow the walkers to stand in their way. With determination and skill, the group led by Jason managed to eliminate the walkers one by one until none were left standing.

The battle was intense. The soldiers fought the walkers with all their strength, cutting, shooting, and dodging their attacks. Jason was observing the entire progress of the cleanup while continuously firing at the walkers.

Bang Bang Bang!

The gunfire was constant, and the point of advance grew larger and larger, so moving forward at the front was no longer a problem.

The group of soldiers led by Jason emerged victorious from the battle, but they knew they still had a lot of work to do to find and neutralize the threat in the secret base.

"Damn, that was fucking intense."

"Hahaha!"

"Check every corner, I don't want any surprises." Jason removed the long magazine from his P90 and placed it beside his empty vest to refill it with bullets later.

There were all kinds of walkers on the ground. By that, he meant that some were dressed in suits while others were soldiers. Seeing this, Jason frowned—how had the infection spread so widely in a place that was supposed to be isolated?

This was supposed to be a secret government base, where, in the beginning, there shouldn't have been people who had previously contracted the virus.

Thinking about this, Jason wondered, "Was it an inside job?"

It could be that the virus had been released in this place to wipe everyone out, but there were soldiers with sophisticated weapons. Therefore, that idea wasn't very convincing.

"Could this be a secret laboratory?" Jason's perspective was far more intriguing, since the mere idea of seeing walkers in this base was hard to believe. There was nothing that didn't suggest this place was a secret laboratory where they experimented with the virus.

However, everything was still very unknown, since the CRM in the original story was still searching for a supposed cure with those test subjects rated A, while the Bs, like Rick or Jadis, were used for important leadership positions.

Everyone was shooting the remaining walkers on the ground. Some were using melee weapons, while others used their P90s, and with the help of their lasers, they finished off the remaining walkers.

What they didn't notice was that when the gunshots rang out, a man opened his eyes in a certain room at the end of the hallway, and there was a hint of surprise in his eyes.

"That's a real gunshot! I heard it just now, haha!"
