Chapter 30 - Windsor Visitors (2)

Pulling out his sword, Sulivan Jr looked like he was ready to fight but his father, Jack moved to stand in his way.

"Listen boy, I'm still your captain, the fact that I'm lenient on you because you're my son doesn't give you the permission to undermine my authority, you got that."

"Sir yes sir"

"Good. Now where were we, oh right, Danny.

Why don't you want to come back, I mean you're all grown men, can't you talk things out. "

"Jack, you know very well that I can't, not after what they did to me."

"Please Danny, I'm begging you, my job is on the line, for old time's sake just come peacefully."

"Okay how about this, we have a light spar, if I win, I stay. And if you win I'll come peacefully but with my own conditions."

"Danny I didn't want to do this but since you suggested it, fine. Just don't come crying or begging when I whoop your ass."

With an agreement reached, Jack and his son went to sit on the porch while Daniel made himself ready.

Inside

"Dad you can't be serious, what if you injure him or worse kill him. I know it will burden your conscience till the end of time."

"Ho, and here I thought you were concerned about my safety. Don't worry, I'll hold myself back but don't you dare underestimate Jack either. By now he has received many benefits from those wussy brothers of mine who would do anything to secure their useless little lives", said Daniel, on his way to the bathroom to wash himself. Finished, he came out to see his wives still in their nightgown, one was holding his training suit and the other holding his pair of axes with a bit of struggle due to their weight.

Changing into his training suit, Daniel led everyone outside, except Carmen who was sore from her intense training schedule.

"Danny I hope you don't mind but my son requested to join the match making it 2v1. He doesn't trust that I'll fight well enough. You can also add your son to make things fair."

Sharing a look, the father and son pair of the Windsor household laughed together before Daniel eventually said, "Oh don't worry, it's now fair."

Disregarding their opponents laughter, the Sulivan duo took their position on one end of the open grass field behind the house.

Daniel followed route and took position at the other end, making some warmup swings with his axes then lightly tapping them together multiple times in what the Sulivans believed was a good luck charm attempt.

At the sound of a gunshot, the ceremony starter of many official events, the fight begun.

Sulivan Jr who went by the first name Jackson, sprang into action, his spear pointed ar his foe whose silly grin infuriated him.

With speed that made him seem like he was running on air he lunged to his right, aiming to pierce below the heart as he had been warned not to kill Daniel.

Seeing the incoming attack, Daniel planted his feet looking like he was going to tank the attack until at the last moment he blocked it with the flat side of one axe.

With Jackson in a compromised position, he swung down with the other ax, his aim being Jackson's back.

His axe was met with resistance from Jack's shield as he rescued his son and left a mark on his attacker, drawing first blood.

Seeing he was first to bleed, Daniel let out a faint chuckle which peeved Jack.

"What's so funny, Danny. You're the first to bleed, remember. Now you'll subconsciously hold yourself back in order not to feel pain again which will lead to my eventual victory."

"Now now don't be so sure Jack. In this match I have the upper hand, mentally I mean. After all through the little test I conducted, I found out that your son is your weakness. Instead of going for a fatal blow you only managed to nick me because you had to pull your son to safety, and as you always say, a battle is won mentally before it is physically, meaning I win."

Seeing that Danny was right, Jack was telling his son to sit on the sidelines when an axe came flying towards them from Danny's outstretched hand.

Easily blocking with his shield, Jack was surprised when he felt his body being knocked back a little and his shield, made with the some of the best materials Earth had to offer, now had a long crack in it.

With a booming sound, Daniel took off after channelling his superhuman strength into his legs and performing a huge leap.

The Sulivans were left with little time to prepare as Daniel flew through the air, a little madness in his eyes. Twisting his body to achieve maximum force in the air, Daniel swung down with both hands in an attack the Sulivans attempted tanking by putting their shields together.

Silence reigned for a while until Daniel used the axe's ability, *Shockwave* which generated a force akin to a bomb and planted the Sulivans beneath him. It was the effect of this attack that woke Mateo up, causing him to rush to the battlefield where his family had already been invited to by the Windsors and interrupt it with his nakedness, buying time for the Sulivans sore limbs to recover.

At his departure, Daniel raised the other axe he had stealthily grabbed in the confusion, and raised it, about to perform an overhead strike.

With a few inches left to impact, Jack threw away the shield, surrendering and accepting defeat in hope that he and his son could be spared.

Ceasing the attack, Daniel asked Jackson whether he shared in his father's stance to which the latter reluctantly nodded, because no matter how arrogant or stubborn he might seem, he didn't want to die in his early twenties.

With the match over, Daniel turned his back to them, walking to his family like he didn't almost kill some people, when Jack said something that stopped him in his tracks.

"With all thus strength you have why don't you return and punish your brothers, become King even."

"Because I never had an attachment to the throne and I've forgiven them."

"Oh, I guess you don't know the truth then huh."

"The truth- about what"

"About how your mother actually died."

"What are you saying Jack. You better not be messing with me just to get me to go back."

"No I'm not Danny. I'm sorry to tell you this but, they killed your mother. It was hushed up by the King but, the walls have ears. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this."

What followed was silence, then light sobbing until it eventually turned into the roar of a man carrying so many burdens and filled with so much pain for more than half of his life. The silence returned again but this time it wasn't followed by a roar if pain but rather one sentence.

"Pack your bags, we're going to London."
