"And to tell you the truth ..." Primrose gently took his hands and placed them over her chest. "Despite all the bad thoughts I had about you, I've come to realize there's one thing I can't change."

Edmund didn't say anything in response, but somehow, he still spoke through his mind, even though he knew she could read his mind.

[I guess … she still sees me as a monster.]

Did everything Primrose said earlier about not seeing him as a monster just go in one ear and out the other?

If this was the filtered version of his thoughts, then just how bad were the real, unfiltered ones?

"Edmund," Primrose took a deep breath and spoke in a gentle voice. "I realize that I've always been drawn to you. I didn't understand what I was feeling back then, but now I think … it was something called love."

She had always harbored feelings for him, even when he was cold, even when he barely looked at her for an entire year.

But sadly, that love was always buried under layers of anger and hatred.
