The morning's work ended quickly. Aaron left the academy as usual, heading toward a nearby convenience store to grab something to eat.
As he walked, he retrieved his Quincy Medallion from his system inventory, moving at a leisurely pace beyond the school grounds.
Just as he stepped past the gate, he caught sight of Yoruichi's familiar figure.
She stood there, holding a black bento box in her hands, scanning her surroundings as if searching for someone.
Aaron strolled up beside her, his gaze curious as they locked eyes.
"You left in a hurry this morning, so I made you a bento," Yoruichi said, her face slightly flushed as she extended the box toward him.
Aaron smiled at her but, before he could respond, he felt a distinct resonance from the Quincy Medallion in his grasp.
"Again?" he mused inwardly.
Glancing at Yoruichi, who stood before him with a mix of shyness and concern, he spoke softly, "Head home and get some rest. I have something to take care of after lunch. Be careful."
Yoruichi studied his expression, her golden eyes narrowing slightly. She seemed to understand something but merely nodded, though a trace of worry remained on her face.
"It's nothing major," Aaron reassured her. "I'll call you when it's over."
After watching her leave, he turned his attention back to the Quincy Medallion.
Tucking his lunch into his system inventory, he walked toward a secluded alley near the academy.
Before long, he sensed two distinct Reiatsu signatures rapidly approaching.
Leaning casually against a wall, he waited, a hint of curiosity creeping into his thoughts. Who would the Sternritter send this time?
Ten minutes later, two figures emerged at the alley's entrance.
Upon spotting Aaron, they hesitated briefly before stepping forward.
"Sir, this should be the target," the stocky James said, adjusting his glasses as he spoke to Mask De Masculine.
Mask eyed Aaron, who stood patiently in the distance, then smirked. "James, are you ready to witness the performance of a true superhero?"
"Mr. Mask is the strongest! I can't wait to cheer you on!" James exclaimed excitedly, seemingly producing a set of small hammers and copper bells from nowhere.
"Ding—"
With the crisp chime of a bell, Mask's Reiatsu surged explosively.
A violent gust of wind tore through the alley, howling toward Aaron.
Aaron barely spared the two a glance before vanishing in a flicker of movement.
"James, did you see that?" Mask laughed. "He must already be scared of my power! Ha! Let's chase him down!"
"Haha! I can't wait to see you take him down, Mr. Mask!" James cheered, his bells ringing wildly as he dashed forward.
Aaron moved like a black phantom, swiftly traversing the skies until he arrived at the valley that once sealed Kuchiki Soujun.
Narrowing his eyes, he observed the two figures closing in fast.
A surge of formidable Reiatsu erupted from his body, and his black Zanpakutō materialized in his grip.
A brilliant golden light descended from above, but Aaron cleaved through it effortlessly. The severed energy blast crashed into a distant boulder, shattering it into debris.
"Boom—"
The valley trembled under the force of the explosion, dust and rubble scattering in all directions.
Mask and James landed nearby, preparing to boast, but their words caught in their throats when a dark silhouette streaked toward them at terrifying speed.
"Ding! Ding! Ding!"
With the melodic clang of James' bells, Mask's body radiated dazzling golden light.
A pentagram-shaped aura materialized behind his head, and spectral, cape-like wings unfurled from his back. In the center of his chest, a three-dimensional star emblem shimmered, radiating an ominous power. Even the thick belt around his waist pulsed with star-shaped energy.
Aaron swung his blade at the golden radiance, while Mask soared into the sky, trailing streaks of light.
James cheered wildly, his bells ringing in tandem with his cries—only to be swallowed by a blur of black sword shadows.
A single strike.
A shower of red mist.
James was reduced to scattered chunks of flesh, obliterated in an instant.
Yet, instead of anger, Mask cackled gleefully.
The golden cloak at his back billowed, and he traced a pentagram in the sky with his glowing form.
"Feel the might of a superhero!" he roared. "Star Beam: Supernova!"
Mask unleashed a colossal, star-shaped energy blast toward the valley floor.
"Boom—!"
The earth quaked violently, a shockwave rippling outward from the impact.
Yet, before the dust could settle, Aaron reappeared behind Mask like a phantom.
An intense gravitational force emanated from his body, drawing countless spiritual particles into himself.
Raising his Zanpakutō—now infused with a swirling amalgamation of energies—he swung mercilessly at the glowing figure before him.
Mask turned to block, but the moment his arms met the attack, an enormous black sword arc cleaved through the sky, sending him hurtling downward.
The golden radiance encasing his body dimmed instantly, and he plummeted to the ground like a meteor.
However, instead of weakening, Mask's Reiatsu flared to even greater heights.
From within the dust, an eerie sight unfolded.
James, who had been sliced into pieces moments before, reformed—his body reassembling as if time itself had reversed.
Not just one James. Hundreds of them.
They surrounded Mask, their grins unsettling as they rang their bells in unison.
Mask's laughter echoed across the valley, his aura surging exponentially in an instant.
"What a fierce attack! You actually managed to chop James into pieces!"
"But you've only made me stronger! AHAHAHAHA!"
"The more James clones, the greater my power!"
"Because! We are truly immortal!"
"Now, I can feel the support of my devoted fans!"
"Behold! The wrath of an undying hero!"
Mask threw his arms wide, his voice thundering across the battlefield like an earthquake.
The countless James clones around him erupted into wild cheers, ringing their bells feverishly.
In a storm of chimes, Mask became a blinding sun, his golden aura expanding like a supernova.
Above, black thunderclouds churned ominously, and bolts of purple lightning coiled around Aaron's form.
Without hesitation, he raised his Zanpakutō, his expression unreadable, and brought it down in a devastating arc toward Mask and his army of James.
