Wave Explanation

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD:

[This section delves into the magic system of the world, specifically the mechanics of Wave and how it functions. It also contains spoilers regarding the abilities of key characters, including insights into their unique powers and limitations. If you want to experience these revelations through the story, consider reading ahead with caution! However, if you are that curious about the magic system—then please stay! In this world, Wave operates based on the ROYGBIV light spectrum, meaning a user's abilities are tied to a specific wavelength of light. However, because light waves often overlap in nature, some elements can be accessed by multiple Wave users.

For example, lightning can be controlled by Blue, Yellow, and Violet Wave users because real-world lightning can appear in shades of blue, yellow, and violet depending on atmospheric conditions. However, their control over lightning varies based on their individual wavelength:

Blue Wave Users manipulate cooler, high-energy lightning, often associated with storms and controlled discharges. Yellow Wave Users create erratic, explosive bursts of lightning, akin to raw electrical surges. Violet Wave Users generate the most unstable and high-frequency lightning, capable of reaching extreme speeds and precision. They require the most control and practice to use. But as stated, it comes with the advantage of it being faster and more precise.

This concept applies to other elements as well. For instance, fire may be accessible to both Red and Orange Wave users, but their control differs in temperature and behavior. The stronger a user is, the more deeply they can manipulate their element, distinguishing them from others with similar abilities.

Wave Magic Tiers

1. Tier 5–Basic Light Manipulation (Lowest Rank)

Users can manipulate their respective light wavelength but cannot affect physical matter. Light bending for minor illusions or visibility control. Mostly found in lower-class individuals or untrained users.

Example:

A Red Wave user can generate faint red light but not fire. A Blue Wave user can create a weak glow of blue light but cannot affect water.

1.5. Tier 4.5–Elemental Control (Pre-Manifestation Stage)

Users in this tier can manipulate elements. However, they cannot generate them on their own.

Example:

A Tier 4.5 Blue Wave user can manipulate rainwater or existing ice but cannot create it themselves.

This is the transitional stage before full manifestation.

2. Tier 4–Elemental Manifestation (Intermediate Users)

Known Users: (The young master of The Lemmings Household)

Users can manifest physical elements related to their wavelength (water, fire, wind, etc.). Stronger control over the density and intensity of light. Requires training and a deep connection to their Wave.

Example:

A Blue Wave user can generate lightning. A Green Wave user can manipulate wind and plant growth at this stage.

3. Tier 3–Advanced Wavelength Manipulation (Elite Users)

Known Users: (The Lemmings and other household names)

Users can bend their wavelength to influence both energy and matter. Can create constructs, barriers, or enhance their bodies using Wave. Control extends beyond their element—for example, a Blue Wave user could manipulate ice and liquid states of water all at once or in rapid succession.

Example: A Violet Wave user can distort space or use short-range teleportation. An Orange Wave user can produce intense heat waves beyond just fire.

4. Tier 2–World Shapers (Masters of Wave)

Known Users: (The Seven)

Mastery over their Wave, affecting matter at an atomic or molecular level. Can influence the environment on a grand scale (e.g., summon massive storms, shift landscapes). Can overwrite weaker Waves, altering reality in localized areas.

Example:

A powerful Indigo Wave user can warp gravity or create void-like distortions. A Green Wave master can terraform landscapes, bending plant life at will.

5. Tier 1–Prismatic Beings (Godlike Entities)

Theoretical Level–No known users

Users can manipulate all wavelengths, bending reality to their will. Capable of altering perception, rewriting physical laws, and even influencing time.

Samael's Role:

While not at this tier, he has the potential to become a "Null Prismatic" — a being who can erase or rewrite any Wave ability due to his absorption trait. If he learns to control what he absorbs, he could become a unique force in the world, using absorbed Wave to counter or even mimic abilities.

6. Null Tier (Samael) - The Absence of Light Ability: Absorbs all wavelengths, rendering him blind to color. Unknowingly (for now) capable of negating other Wave abilities by erasing their wavelength.

Potential: Unknown. Could be the ultimate counter to all Wave users.

Wave Trials – The Path to Power

How Wave Trials Work:

Participants are subjected to a barrage of elemental forces—scorching heat, freezing cold, crushing pressure, and violent storms, depending on the power of the Wave element users putting them through the trial. The process is both physically and mentally grueling, requiring extreme endurance. A successful trial often results in a breakthrough, allowing a Wave user to unlock greater control or even move up a tier. (This method is mainly used for those that are not talented, or are not born into a household name. The lower tiers of the Length District often have different elements in their family, and never grow strong enough through one element like the household names. This causes them to be non-proficient, and put their children when they come of age (14), through all elements just for a chance of awakening their Wave and breaking through.)

Born Talented vs. Trial-Takers:

Not everyone needs to undergo the Wave Trials. Some are naturally gifted, born with an affinity that allows them to skip this ordeal entirely. These individuals often rise in strength effortlessly, while others must endure the suffering of the Trials to progress.

Wave Trials in the Length District:

In the Length District, powerful Wave-wielding families (The Lemmings House) subject their children to their own overwhelming Wave from an early age. The stronger the Wave, the better potential they have to be someone powerful. This brutal method is meant to force the child to develop a resistance and familiarity with Wave, preparing them for future mastery. However, this can be dangerous, and only those from household names survive or benefit from such treatment.
