Chapter 42 - Underground Laboratory

"Hahahaha…" William just laughed after hearing his wife Annette's report about the man's task and the last part about him claiming he could create a serum better than William's own G-Virus.

"It seems he doesn't know anything about Spencer and was only sent here for some minor matter. And it looks like he has another reason for coming here." William laughed again, thinking about the kid who believed it would be easy to make a new serum.

"From what he said, he's probably just trying to brag. Sure, he's pretty smart, managing to earn multiple diplomas in a short time and at such a young age. But does he really think his newly gained experience can rival my years of research? Hahahaha!" William kept laughing, throwing jabs at Allen. "Seems like he's dreaming too big."

"Do you doubt him?" Annette asked, a hint of uncertainty in her voice, because judging from his academic record, he had been able to create advanced equipment at a young age.

"No… judging from Spencer, who never trusts anyone, and the fact that he seems close to Alex Wesker and is being used by her, yeah — he's probably just a distraction." William spoke in a calm tone, then returned to his work, calculating data. "By the way, keep him as busy as possible, because it'll be hard for you to kill him directly with his guard around."

Annette felt relieved that she didn't have to do such a thing. "Okay… by the way, do you need help with the G-Virus? I can assist you anytime with that." She hoped to contribute to the experiment and be useful to her husband.

But her hopes were dashed. "No need, I can do it myself. I just need you to focus on making the antivirus," William replied, his tone slightly irritated. Every time she asked about the G-Virus, he felt a twinge of suspicion — could his wife also be a spy for Spencer? The thought crossed his mind because she was acting very suspicious.

Unfortunately, that was only in his mind, as he had already become far too paranoid.

Annette, feeling that her husband seemed to want to push her out of the research they had originally undertaken together, grew slightly annoyed. Muttering under her breath, "Is he trying to remove me from the G-Virus project?" she left the room with an angry tone.

.....

After Allen stepped out of the underground facility and finally got a breath of fresh air, he couldn't help but complain. "How can they work in that lab so comfortably? The air in there is so stuffy."

"In my opinion, the air there isn't that bad compared to the training grounds I had back when I was in the military. I'm sure you wouldn't last five minutes before dropping dead, hahaha," Karen teased Allen.

"My team and I used to train in sewers with such a foul stench it made you want to throw up every second. I'm sure you couldn't handle that," she said while following him into the car. She continued, "You should start training like I did — you know it could make you safer, and I wouldn't have to worry."

"Ohhh… so now you're worried about me? I thought my guard was supposed to keep me safe 24/7," Allen replied.

"Let's head back to the villa first — there's something I want to give you there."

"Ohh… can I know what it is?"

"Just drive for now, I'll explain when we get there."

Hearing that, Karena stepped on the gas and drove them toward the villa in the Arklay Mountains.

After they arrived at the villa, Allen led Karena to an underground room. There, he took a suitcase from his vault and pulled out a small tube — the same kind previously used by Alex and Jill.

"Mind telling me what you're doing? We're already at the villa," Karena asked, curious about what her boss — and lover — was up to.

"This is my own research. You know what Umbrella has been working on with the T-Virus and G-Virus, right?"

"Yeah… are you working on the same thing as them too?"

"Well, you could say that. But compared to their serum, which can honestly be considered a failed product…" he pressed a button on his bracelet, and the miniature tube expanded until it was large enough for a person to enter. "…I can say my serum is quite different from theirs."

Karen's eyes widened in surprise at the sudden size change of the tube. "So you mean…"

"Yeah — you could say I have a super soldier serum that can give you strength far beyond the average human."

"So this is the 'benefit' you were talking about last week," she said.

"Yep… and don't worry, my serum doesn't have side effects like turning you into a monster or anything like that. Even Jill has used the same serum. So, are you interested?"

"Of course I'm interested — what kind of person wouldn't want more power?" Karen said, pulling Allen into a passionate kiss on the lips.

After about five minutes of making out, she asked again, her gaze drifting toward Allen's crotch. "So… did you use this serum too?"

"Nope… unfortunately, this serum doesn't work on me," Allen replied.

Allen also told her that his yogurt could make a woman immortal. This revelation left Karena stunned, and she began to wonder if she should entrust her daughter to Allen — she didn't want to see her grow old and die.

"Alright, now take off all your clothes and get in there so I can give you this serum."

"Okay…" Karena replied, immediately removing all her clothes without hesitation — she trusted Allen completely and knew he wouldn't harm her. She then stepped into the tube.

Allen, never tiring of seeing her fully exposed, admired her beautiful figure while running his hand along her body. He then injected her with his custom-made super soldier serum, and Karen began undergoing the same merging process that Alex and Jill had experienced before.

...

One week later, more and more cases of missing people in the Arklay Mountains began to surface. Many frightened locals claimed to have seen monsters there, with some witnesses describing human-like figures missing several body parts, wandering around and eating animals raw.

Raccoon City's television stations even reported the incidents, turning them into the hottest topic in the news.

Fortunately, Allen had already emptied his entire villa in the area and moved everything to his apartment. Of course, he had also securely hidden all his research data inside his special suitcase.

At the moment, the Raccoon Police Department was busy handling the case, receiving numerous complaints about why it still hadn't been resolved.

In the lobby, where the S.T.A.R.S. members were gathered, the Alpha Team and Bravo Team had merged into one unit to solve the case. Albert Wesker, the squad leader, was explaining the investigation plan.

"Hey Jill, how have you been? You seem busy lately."

"Oh, hi Chris. Sorry about that — I've been busy helping my husband and my sisters move into an apartment in the city."

Hearing that, Chris felt a pang in his chest. It seemed he still struggled to accept that Jill was married. Even though he had a girlfriend now, it was as if he couldn't let go of Jill — a first love is always hard to forget. Thinking about Allen having more than one wife made him feel the man was incredibly lucky.

"Oh, so you're all finally living together now?"

"Yeah, something like that. You know, with all the recent missing persons cases, I've been worried about my husband. But thankfully, they've moved here now, so I'm not as concerned."

"I see… my sister also said she wanted to visit me here during the summer break, but I'm worried something big and dangerous might happen. So I told her not to come this year."

"Hey Chris, Jill — what are you two talking about?" Rebecca interrupted their conversation.

"Oh, hi Rebecca. We were just talking about my husband, my sisters, and also Chris's little sister — apparently, she wanted to visit during the summer," Jill said with a smile toward Rebecca.

That smile made Rebecca blush, remembering that she and Allen had gone on a date before — and yes, she had already planned their third date with him.

"Yeah, but unfortunately, I told Claire not to come. You know, I'm a bit worried and have a bad feeling about it," Chris said.

Rebecca let out a heavy sigh, knowing full well what was happening there and exactly what Chris was concerned about. "I've seen it myself, Chris — there's a terrifying monster roaming the Arklay Mountains. But unfortunately, my testimony was completely dismissed by the Chief…"

She held back from adding that the Chief had actually instructed her to get closer to Allen — yes, unbeknownst to the others, Allen had secretly bribed Chief Brian with money so that Rebecca could go on dates with him again.

Meanwhile in Europe, Alex Wesker, who was currently overseeing Project W, was reviewing the children who had been injected with the Progenitor Virus.

"What is Team Black Rose doing right now?" Alex asked the person she was on the phone with while looking over the data of the children who had survived the research process she was conducting.

"At the moment, Team Black Rose is only monitoring the safety of the Winters family and guarding them from a distance. For training, we're being instructed by Miss Athena every week to face several mutant dogs in the Arklay Mountains."

"Good, in that case, keep monitoring your team, and if you need anything, just ask."

"Yes, ma'am."

The person who answered Alex's call was a spy sent by Umbrella's spy division Brodvonski . Alex had managed to turn him into her loyal follower who obeyed only her, and right now, they were also acting as a double agent for Allen. Allen had requested this arrangement, as it would be a waste to kill a team member.

"Stuart, report this data to Spencer so we can start the next phase. And also tell that woman to meet Allen as soon as possible, I want to add more security for him."

"Yes, ma'am."

Alex was quite pleased with the results of her research in such a short time, as Allen's custom serum seemed to allow her to think more clearly and efficiently.

This led to a breakthrough in developing the virus—the survival rate of the Progenitor Virus had increased from 18% to 60%.

She could use this force for her personal goals while also draining more of Spencer's funds.

And secretly, Alex had also been assembling her nano-tech suit—something that seemed to have become her new hobby.

....

Meanwhile, at the headquarters of the United States federal military, a meeting was being held to discuss the G-serum discovered by Dr. William. He believed that the serum he was developing was highly valuable and had significant potential, whereas the completed T-virus could be used in warfare and possessed extraordinary capabilities. At the moment, they were debating which side to support — Umbrella or Dr. William.

They knew that crossing Umbrella would cause many problems, as Umbrella was a powerful multinational group with immense influence. Their only option was to extract Dr. William by force — but at the moment, he was under strict surveillance and heavily guarded by Umbrella.

After a long debate, they finally agreed to help Dr. William escape from Umbrella. They contacted him and informed him that they accepted his terms, but emphasized that they would need to devise a precise plan first.

....

Right now, Allen had just come out of the underground laboratory after finishing his task of installing new computers in every room. He was walking toward the police station to meet his wife, Jill, and pick her up so they could go home together. In his hand, he carried a coffee he'd bought from a nearby café.

But suddenly, someone bumped into him, spilling his drink.

"Well, looks like I just ran into some bad luck," he muttered, glancing down at his shirt now stained with coffee. At least it was just an ordinary shirt and not an expensive suit or anything.

And when Allen saw that the person who bumped into him was a beautiful blonde-haired woman with a short haircut.

And the woman at this time with a guilty-looking face apologized to him.

"Sorry, sir, for bumping into you. I'll buy you a coffee as an apology."

"Ah, it's okay, it's just a drink."

Seeing that the woman seemed to feel guilty, Allen didn't make a big deal out of it. But it seemed she wouldn't give up and kept apologizing, persuading Allen to accept her offer.

"Come on, I don't want to feel like I owe you because of my mistake. I'll buy you a new coffee and also some new clothes."

Seeing that the woman was being persistent and making it hard for him to refuse, Allen finally agreed.

"Okay, but I'm in a hurry, so I don't have much time."

"Great, follow me."

The woman then took Allen to a clothing store first to buy him new clothes. She seemed to be picking out something for him to wear.

"Sorry, miss, you don't have to buy me expensive clothes since the ones I'm wearing cost less than seven dollars," Allen said while picking out a plain black outfit, the cheapest one in the store.

"I think this will do."
