"Master Allen wanted to ask about Project Resistance," Stuart said respectfully, his head slightly bowed. "He mentioned he's looking for a few acquaintances who've gone missing—he believes they might be held there."

Alex raised an eyebrow and gave a small shake of her head. She could already guess where her lover's intentions were headed. Well, it didn't really surprise her—especially if Allen's goal was to save people he knew.

"Alright, I'll handle this myself. You can go back, Stuart," Alex said, her tone calm but focused.

As Stuart left the room, Alex made her way toward her private office. Sitting down at her desk, she powered on Umbrella's secure terminal, fingers flying across the keyboard as she began searching through the company's classified database for the information Allen needed.

Not long after, Alex sent Allen the complete data regarding Project Resistance.

"Does this project have any connection to the one you're planning to work on next?" Allen asked her through their private communication channel.

"Well, it's not officially approved yet," Alex replied, her tone calm but elegant as she sat gracefully at her desk. "But Spencer already sent me a sample of the virus earlier. He wanted me to analyze it."

Allen began reviewing the virus sample data on his screen, scrolling through the documents with a thoughtful look.

"T-Phobos Virus," he muttered, trying to recall. If I'm not mistaken, this virus appears in Resident Evil: Revelations 2… and Alex ends up being the final boss.

He exhaled softly and shook his head, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "Thanks for the info, darling. Oh, and I wanted to ask—could you help me get involved in this project as well? It'd be a hassle if I had to sneak into it myself."

Allen had already considered the risks: if he secretly extracted the people held there, Umbrella would undoubtedly hunt them down again, forcing him to protect them nonstop. It would be far more efficient to handle things openly.

"Hmmm, of course," Alex said warmly. "I'll see what I can do to make that happen."

"Oh, by the way," Allen added with a playful smile, "when's your next day off?"

"Hmmm… probably sometime in October," Alex answered, her tone turning teasing. "Why? Don't tell me you're already missing me?"

"Well, of course I miss you," Allen replied smoothly, his voice full of warmth.

They shared a few more light, intimate exchanges before finally ending their call—both with faint smiles, already anticipating the next time they'd see each other again.

...

Early in the morning in Raccoon City, a blonde woman with long hair stepped out of a car. From the way she moved, it was clear she'd received special training.

"I've arrived in Raccoon City, Hunnigan. What are my next orders?" the woman said, speaking through her C.I.A. Field Operations Support (FOS) line.

"Rachel, you have two objectives," replied a composed, bespectacled woman on the other end of the line as she monitored several screens. "First, head to the R.P.D. You'll find a hidden passage there that leads to the sewers connected to Umbrella's underground lab. Once you locate William, mark his position. Second, you need to find Allen Winter. Try to approach him—and if things in the city start to get dangerous, your priority is to extract him immediately."

The second mission seemed to have come directly from Senator Ron Davis himself.

"Understood…" Rachel replied, cutting the communication link. She let out a small sigh as she adjusted her earpiece. "I really hate this job," she muttered, irritation flickering across her face. It was supposed to be her time off—but instead, she found herself thrown into yet another mission.

Meanwhile, at the apartment, Excella had just received a message from her subordinates regarding several federal activities that had begun moving. She immediately informed Allen about it.

"Hmmm, looks like the Feds have gone crazy over the G-Virus. I also heard that Simmons has found a researcher to study both the T-Virus and the G-Virus," said Ada, joining their conversation.

"Well, I'm not surprised. The bioweapon market seems very promising," Excella replied, still thinking about the potential profit if she got involved too.

But Allen immediately pinched the woman's thigh—he could tell exactly what the naughty woman was thinking.

"Well, who wouldn't be interested in having superhuman power?" Allen said casually, letting his hand rest on Excella's ass as she sat on his lap.

"Looks like my little vacation here is over," Excella said softly, hugging Allen as they sat together on the couch.

"Hmm? Are you leaving already?" Allen asked.

"Yeah, I'm worried that the people from Tricell might find out I'm here. Besides, I came in secret," she replied.

"Alright, be careful on the way. Don't forget to call me when you get there," Allen said, glancing toward Karena, who was getting ready to escort Excella back to L.A.

"Take care of my daughter while I'm gone, okay? I'll bring your woman back safely," Karena said, giving Allen a quick kiss before leaving.

"Don't worry—your daughter will be perfectly safe in my hands," Allen replied with a grin.

However, the other women who overheard that exchange thought something entirely different. It was hard for them to believe that Laura would actually be safe in the hands of this charming predator.

Allen, of course, had no idea what was running through their minds.

Not long after, Excella and Karena left the apartment, heading toward the helipad.

"Allen, you really don't seem interested in the G-Virus," Ada said, sitting beside him.

"It's not that I'm not interested—but I'm not into failed products like that," Allen replied.

"Well, I figured as much from you," Ada said with a knowing smile as she looked at him.

...

That afternoon, Umbrella seemed unusually busy. Several workers at the company's waste processing facility had become infected and turned into zombies, attacking everyone nearby — even the on-site security personnel.

As a result, Umbrella had to dispatch their mobile units to the area. They even deployed their antivirus formula, but for some reason, it didn't seem to work properly, causing the number of casualties to rise rapidly.

When Sergei heard about the incident, he had no choice but to intervene personally, deploying his elite soldiers to contain the situation before it got completely out of control.

Upon arriving at the waste disposal site, Sergei immediately spoke to the man in charge.

"What's the damage report?" Sergei asked.

"Almost all the staff in our facility have been infected. Even the drainage channels leading to the city are contaminated with the T-Virus. If we don't stop it soon, it could cause an outbreak in the city," the nervous supervisor explained.

"Sir, if we seal off the facility and activate the chamber incineration system to sterilize the area, we might be able to prevent the leak," said a scientist in a lab coat who had just arrived.

After hearing that, Sergei understood that the city's fate was practically sealed. He also realized that Dr. William had already relocated the entire G-Serum research team elsewhere beforehand.

"Use the new sulfuric acid compound to clean this place. Don't return until you've completely sterilized every last trace of contamination," Sergei ordered coldly.

The truth was, Sergei didn't really care about the outbreak itself. What mattered to him was buying Umbrella enough time — time for Spencer to safely move several critical assets out of the corporation before its inevitable collapse.

As long as Umbrella's core resources remained intact, Sergei believed that a new Umbrella would one day rise from the ashes.

And of course, the latest news had already reached Allen — delivered by Wednesday through Yoko, who had been closely monitoring Umbrella's movements.

Rebecca, who happened to overhear the report, couldn't help but feel that the city was becoming even more dangerous.

"Allen, do you have any way to stop this?" Rebecca asked, her voice filled with concern. She clearly had no idea what to do in this situation.

"Don't worry, sweetheart. If things get bad, I'll do what I can to help people who want to escape the city," Allen replied calmly. Deep down, he knew that was probably the only thing he could do for the people in this world.

"Oh, right — could you keep an eye on Laura for me? I don't want her wandering off alone, especially after the news we just got. It'll be dangerous for her to go out by herself," Allen said, turning to Rebecca.

"Of course. Leave that to me," Rebecca replied confidently, understanding that this situation was already beyond her lover's control.

Meanwhile, Svetlana and Ada seemed rather intrigued by the news. Instead of worrying, the two women began preparing several contingency plans — just in case things in the city started to spiral out of control.

....

The next morning, Raccoon City was as busy as ever. No one seemed to notice the incident that had occurred at the city's largest waste disposal facility. However, a few people had started reporting missing persons to the R.P.D. — yet Chief Brian simply ignored them, instructing his officers to focus on other cases instead.

Meanwhile, the detectives who tried to investigate the disappearances quietly began to vanish one by one — all eliminated under Brian's secret orders.

Alyssa, on the other hand, had been planning to interview the families of the missing victims, but Allen forbade her from doing so. That, of course, left her sulking at him for getting in the way of her investigation into Umbrella's corruption.

However, Allen managed to convince Alyssa after he rendered her helpless in bed that morning.

When Allen stepped out of his room, he immediately noticed Laura staring at him with a flushed face. It didn't take a genius to figure out why — she had probably heard everything that happened between him and Alyssa from morning till noon.

"Hey, Laura, are you busy today?" Allen asked as he casually approached his soon-to-be stepdaughter. At the very least, he wanted to build a good relationship with her — after all, her mother was his lover.

"No, not really. There's not much to do in this city anyway," she replied, her tone tinged with boredom. Lately, she had spent most of her days lounging around with nothing exciting to occupy her time.

"Hmmm, how about you come with me to the R.P.D.?" Allen offered, guessing that Laura was getting restless. He planned to take her to the shooting range there to test out some new weapons he'd bought from Robert.

"The R.P.D.? What are we going there for?" Laura asked curiously.

"Just come along — you'll see soon enough," Allen replied with a small grin, extending his hand toward her.

Laura blinked, surprised by the sudden gesture. Her face grew even redder when Allen's fingers wrapped around hers — yet, instead of pulling away, she found herself clinging to his hand, secretly enjoying the warmth of his hand as they walked together toward the R.P.D.

When they arrived at the training area where the S.T.A.R.S. members usually practiced, Allen turned to Laura. "Have you ever handled a gun before?" he asked.

Laura shook her head. "No… um, why are we here? Is it really okay for you to bring me to this place?" she asked, her voice a little nervous.

"Well, I brought you here so we could spend some time together while practicing your shooting skills," Allen said casually. "And don't worry, this is my workplace. I've already got permission. Now, would you like to try shooting a few targets?"

He gestured for Laura to come closer as he picked out a gun suitable for a beginner. "I think this one will suit you," Allen said, taking a modified Glock—its recoil was light, making it perfect for her to start practicing with.

Allen nodded, guiding Laura toward the equipment table. "Okay, first things first—safety rules. Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot, always point the muzzle behind the safety line, and make sure the safety's on whenever you handle the weapon." He demonstrated carefully while holding the Glock.

Laura watched him intently, then mimicked his hand position. "Okay… I'll be careful," she said softly.

A few hours passed, and it seemed Laura was starting to enjoy spending her time with Allen at the shooting range. In fact, she turned out to be quite talented. Allen smiled. "Good. Now try holding it like this—feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, eyes on the target. Take a breath, aim, then exhale slowly as you squeeze the trigger."

Laura raised the pistol—nervously—peered through the sights, then squeezed the trigger. The sharp crack of the shot echoed through the training room, the paper target swaying slightly. They waited a moment before Allen observed the result.

"Not bad," Allen said, trying to keep the admiration out of his tone. "You hit near the center. Again—remember, control your breathing."
