The red eyed four handed apes , they had a similar body structure to that of humans the most striking difference was in the number of arms it had . While humans had two it had four which as many can see has been a huge influence on it's name .
The other striking feature was their red iris . While there are other monsters with striking features almost none of them had such a vibrant colour . It was so deep it almost looked like it was a blood pool , one of it abilities [Blood haze ] also fed into this idea .
These monsters were famous for their hand to hand combat , the skill blood haze was similar to a berserk skill , activating it made their battle instincts skyrocket , but it also had it's drawbacks , it led to a severe lack of intelligence in their actions which led to them only focusing on the target in front of them and being susceptible to traps and ambushes , a fact many parties took advantage of .
In the settlement in front of them their were about 25 apes , while it might seem small for a settlement for monsters with almost no emotional ties it was a huge feat . While insects , like the spider nest they observed earlier , mostly have a heirarchial settlement centered around the queen , the mammals mostly stayed in small groups unless and until they were pack monsters , like the flame wolf they had encountered earlier , while the small group they had fought had been just 3 , only half a kilometer from that place had been a settlement of almost a hundred of them .
So it led two conclusions either something in or on this land was attracting them or something or someone had gathered them here . Well not like it will matter in some time , truly Lu Xiao Tian wondered sometimes why the heavens had decided to give someone like Hwang Jin who found the most thrill in hand to hand combat a class like tamer where the tamer stays far away and gives commands and at most supports the battlefield with long distance attacks instead of rushing to the heart of the battle .
He watched as he ran into the settlement with a deranged grin on his face . Truly looking at his baby face and sheep like curls no one would be able to connect it to the grin on his face which would surely put most lunatics to shame .
Hwang Jin was an excellent scout as well as an excellent fighter , what he was not excellent in was analysing the information he gathered , or to be more accurate he did not even try to analyse it . Lu Xiao Tian remembered one of the conversations he had with Hwang Jin in the start of their partnership .
'You idiot , while collecting data actually see how it connects to each other , otherwise you will miss major clues and just keep bringing useless information like this ' a young Lu Xiao Tian shouted at a dirty Hwang Jin who looked close to tears . Lu Xiao Tian ran a frustrated hand down his face . It had been one of the more important jobs for them since it was the first one they had gotten from outside the slums , doing it perfectly would have led to them earning more credibility and more people would hear about them increasing their earnings .
Later he had to run around all over the place and work around the clock to ensure they finished till the deadline . After this he started taking him on field so that he could develop his analysis skills at least to the level of stringing together clues so that he would bring back actually usable data .
He had honestly thought about leaving him behind but something he had said had stopped him "I'm sorry , but , but all I need to do is gather the data right , you will take care of the rest , right ?" while to many it might not seem important some might even think it to be burdensome , but to Lu Xiao Tian of that time who was desperately trying to build a place for himself it had been exhilarating to know that someone was willing to depend on him like that , and at the same time seeing the kid who was always so guarded showing his weakness so openly had placated something inside him something of which even he himself was not aware of .
Of course since then his analysis skill had grown by leaps and bounds to the point he could keep up with him at most instances but he still gave up thinking about it if Lu Xiao Tian was already making strategies about it . Still following that old sentiment that as long as he did the groundwork he won't need to take the commanding role and could freely have fun as he was having now .
Lu Xiao Tian looked towards the main scene where Hwang Jin with a frightening amount of strength ripped out one of the arms of the ape he was fighting around him a few could already be seen lying around probably dead , at this moment Hwang Jin turned around to give a smile radiant enough to blind the sun itself . Of course the blood on him dampened the effect but all Lu Xiao Tian could give back in return was a small smile of encouragement and approval .
