His grip eased at her vulnerability. His hand moved gently to her cheek, stroking her soft skin. Without a word, he sat up, swinging his legs over the side of the bed.
"Are you living here?" he asked, eyeing the modest furnishings.
Tania gave a theatrical sigh. "Yes. After everything that happened, my career tanked. My assets were seized. I have no job, no savings, no home. Right now, this hotel is the best I can manage. It's temporary until I figure things out."
"You don't need to stay in a place like this," Gabriel said, his tone commanding. "Check out today. Rent yourself a proper house. Don't worry about the cost."
He stepped away from the bed, collecting his suit jacket from the floor. Digging into the inner pocket, he pulled out his wallet and removed a sleek black card.
"Here," he said, holding it out to her. "There is a five-million limit. Use it however you need."
Tania's eyes sparkled as she accepted the card. "You are quite generous."
