I exploded, not physically, my presence as a magical being reached peaks never before perceivable, before I was a small light bulb in an endless sea of darkness, now I am a beacon of pure mana, a sun, something that would attract mana without even having to will for it to move.
My physical structure changed visibly, my flesh became healthier, I became taller, the mana I produced that didn't fill my reserve was barely being contained by the item made by Yao, the power of my mana slowly eroding it's durability.
My eyes sparkled with dozen of colors as I understood evrything and nothing at the same time, I saw the movement of mana, it's creation and change, from water to wind, from wind to fire, from fire to earth, from earth to water, and all of the other elements being a compound of these basic elements, but above those stood elements that existed from even before the creation of Earth, if you see it from my perspective, Earth is nothing more than a pebble in an endless sea of energy.
I felt the eyes of the ones present near me all pointed at me, worry seeped into them as more and more mana got produced each second I stayed still, the level of One With Nature going up without having to do anything.
But those weren't the only eyes I perceived, I senses threaths that stood beyond this world, this galaxy, this universe, mana whispered to me, told me that I had to get stronger, to protect those I hold dear, Mana was helping me undestand that the little power I currently hold is nothing more than a speck againts these beings.
And so I stopped, my mana presence diminished, my mana production lowered, letting Yao's ring last just a bit longer, the physical changes that had turned my body into more mana than flesh disappeared.
As I landed on the platform where Mary stood, I smiled at seeing the worry on her face disappear, replaced by happiness. No matter what happens, I have a connection to Earth, and no matter how wonderful it would be to study the mana beyond Earth, I will remain here to protect her.
" My dad is super cool," Mary said while moving her little fists up and down.
I smiled and proceeded to summon Zephyr to distract her while I talked with the other, the fact that Zephyr's natural form, before turning into its puppy form, was a big as a minivan, was a proof my progress is infulncing all my summons too, I will have to see how they changed when I am back home.
" That went better than I expected," I said with a smile to Yao and the other two.
" Are you serious? Your power went ahead and gave you enough power to destroy a big city if you wished." Agatha countered with her disapproval.
" And that is a problem?"
" Magic is not supposed to work like this, you are supposed to study, learn, practice, make pacts to gain more power, you don't just make a few trees appear and gain that amount of power."
" It is like that for me."
She seemed ready to continue ranting but Yao stopped her with a stare, realaizing that his was more out of jealosy than anything else.
" I am happy to see you didn't get drunk on power, that amount of magic coursing through someone's body might have made them arrogant, you seem worried instead."
" We both know why I am worried, I know what lies beyond, and I have been told of what could happen if not stopped. You should have told me"
" That is not something a child should worry about," Yao said with some sternness in his voice.
" We are talking about world-ending threats, threats that could very well end the life of my daughter; this is my problem."
"... We will talk about them later, for now, you should go home and explore what new powers you gained."
I wanted to say more, but I realised he was right, what I had done might attract a lot of attention, and I don't want Mary to get involved.
" This discourse isn't finished," I said while opening a portal for me and Mary, leaving the three behind.
I had completed my revenge; now it was time for me to grow stronger, not for myself, but for others.
