Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: Come, Let Me Enjoy Myself to My Heart's Content!

As Robert walked ahead confidently, the waiter trailing behind him wore an expression filled with cold, murderous intent.

I don't know where this arrogant bastard came from, the waiter fumed silently. How dare he speak to me like that and stir up trouble in Team Rocket's territory? He's finished. Offending Team Rocket means one thing: you'll be skinned alive.

If Robert could hear the waiter's internal monologue, he would have likely burst out laughing.

Sure, Team Rocket is the largest criminal organization in the Kanto region, he mused inwardly, but you're just a nobody. If it were your boss or one of the higher-ups, I might take things more seriously. But you? I could hang you up and beat you single-handedly—and do it repeatedly for good measure.

Without exchanging another word, Robert followed the waiter through the facility. They passed through the bustling game hall, then a less crowded employee passage. After more than ten minutes of silent walking, they stopped in front of a luxurious, ornately decorated gate.

"This is the VIP room, esteemed guest," the waiter said with a forced smile. "From here on, you'll have to proceed alone. I don't have the authority to go inside."

Robert returned the smile with a calm nod. "Is that so? Well, thank you for leading the way, young man…"

Before the waiter could react, a red shadow sprang forward. A flash of red eyes, and the waiter collapsed, unconscious.

"Haunter, nicely done," Robert said, patting the ghost Pokémon that had launched the sneak attack. "Looks like we're getting more in sync."

"Gastly~" Haunter responded cheerfully, clearly pleased with Robert's praise. Though the ghost-type Pokémon wasn't fond of pranks, it had fully accepted its trainer and would do anything to support him as a companion.

With the waiter taken care of, Robert could now begin his real plan. He had come here with the sole purpose of causing trouble for Team Rocket, and he wasn't concerned about playing by any so-called rules or martial ethics.

Despite Team Rocket's infamy, Robert had no intention of killing anyone unless they truly crossed the line. Their crimes, he figured, were better left for Officer Jenny and law enforcement to handle. As for their ultimate fate? He wouldn't be surprised if Giovanni bailed them out, but that didn't matter to him.

Once you've made an enemy of me, Robert thought, I won't hesitate the next time we cross paths. And next time, my Pokémon will be even stronger—possibly at least quasi-elite level. With a Mega Evolution Stone in hand, I'll be ready for any retaliation.

With a smirk on his face, Robert pushed open the grand VIP room doors.

"Hehehe… Team Rocket scum, your master Red has arrived. I hope you won't disappoint me."

He walked in calmly and threw a few Poké Balls forward.

Charizard. Pidgeot. Beedrill. Pikachu. Squirtle. And finally, Haunter, who emerged from the shadows.

When dealing with a criminal organization like Team Rocket, Robert wasn't going to bother with fairness or a traditional Pokémon battle. The idea of a moral code didn't apply here. This wasn't some card game where everything's resolved through a duel—the real world played by different rules.

"Who are you?"

"Who the hell are you?!"

"You've got some nerve barging into Team Rocket's base like this! Do you have a death wish?"

The sudden intrusion startled everyone inside. This "VIP room" turned out to be a covert base bustling with Team Rocket members. Whether they were guards, service staff, or administrators, they all shared one identity—members of the infamous organization.

The moment Robert entered with his squad of Pokémon, every member in the room stood up, visibly alarmed.

"Who am I?" Robert echoed, smirking.

"Well, since you asked so sincerely, I'll show you some mercy and introduce myself—"

He straightened his posture dramatically and began in a mock-serious tone:

"To prevent this world from falling to ruin,

To protect peace across every nation,

To uphold love and true compassion,

I am the handsome, wise male protagonist..."

"My name is Ash!"

"I am the chosen one who walks among the crowd,

The black hole and the dark night await you..."

(=^_^=)

The Team Rocket members stood in stunned silence.

"…What the hell was that?" one of them muttered, visibly confused by the bizarre introduction.

"Captain," one of the grunts said hesitantly, "I think that was from Team Rocket's Third Division slogan—you know, the one Salvadore and Adoma use?"

"You idiot, it's not Salvadore and Adoma! It's Butch and Cassidy!" another member corrected angrily.

"Whatever!"

"…You fools!" the Captain barked, stepping forward and slapping both of them on the back of their heads. "Is now really the time to argue over this nonsense? Can't you see the intruder standing right in front of you with a team of powerful Pokémon?! What are you waiting for? Send out your Pokémon and take him down!"

"Yes, sir!"

Finally snapping back to reality, the Team Rocket members sprang into action, each tossing their Poké Balls.

"Go, Arbok! Use Poison Sting!"

"Golbat, I choose you! Use Air Cutter!"

"Koffing, use Smog!"

One by one, dozens of Pokémon filled the room. As expected, most of them were standard-issue grunts' Pokémon—Arbok, Golbat, and Koffing.

"Tsk, tsk…" Robert clicked his tongue. "Snakes, bats, and gas… What a cliché."

He wasn't surprised. These were the typical choices for low-level Team Rocket members, and while none were particularly strong, their sheer numbers could pose a problem.

Still, Robert wasn't about to stand there and take a beating. He came to cause chaos—and that's exactly what he intended to do.

"Charizard, you know what to do—Flamethrower, full blast!"

The fire-breathing dragon roared and let out a scorching stream of flames that engulfed a group of enemy Pokémon.

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt! Fry the bats!"

"Pika—CHUUUU!"

Electricity surged through the air, zapping the Golbats mid-flight and sending them crashing to the ground.

"Beedrill, use Twin Needle! Squirtle, Water Gun! Pidgeot, use Gust to scatter the gas attacks!"

One command after another echoed through the room as Robert's team launched a synchronized counterattack.

Haunter, meanwhile, phased in and out of visibility, launching surprise attacks that left grunts stumbling in confusion.

The battle was intense but heavily one-sided. Robert's Pokémon were stronger, more coordinated, and commanded with confidence.

Within minutes, the VIP room had turned into a battlefield strewn with unconscious Pokémon and groaning Team Rocket members.

Robert stood tall amid the chaos, dusting off his sleeves.

"Well, that was a decent warm-up," he muttered. "But I came here for more than just a scuffle. Where's your boss hiding?"

He looked around as his Pokémon regrouped behind him.

"I hope you're watching this, Giovanni," he said aloud, grinning. "Because next time, I'm coming for you."
