CLANG!
Yami and Garrus's blades clashed, sending a shockwave through the entire training grounds. Sparks flew as greatsword and scythe clashed in a frenzied flurry.
Yami's muscles were tense from using Brute Strength (Lesser), but his smile never wavered.
"You're still standing, rookie?" Garrus snorted, shoving back with brute force.
Yami chuckled. "What can I say? I don't go down easy."
But just when they were about to meet again—
BANG!
The arena doors burst open.
"Helloooooo, Adventurer's Guild!"
A voice so boisterous and so booming that it surprised everyone.
Standing at the door was a skinny, frail-looking man with an enormous smile on his face. He wore an appallingly flashy gold-trimmed coat and his brown hair was messy from travelling.
By his side was a thin, skinny boy, wearing plain clothes, but with an absurd number of bags. He looked really tired.
The small man spread his arms wide.
"Hooray! For I, the GREAT Lucky Luke, have arrived! To put an end to all your problems!"
Silence.
Then—
Rei whispered softly, "Who the hell is this clown?"
Lina frowned. "Wait. I've heard of him. Lucky Luke. The trader who always manages to get lucky deals."
Garrus drew his sword, his expression incredulous. "You're saying that's Lucky Luke? The guy who's supposed to give relics like candy?"
Lucky smiled. "Oh ho! You've heard of me? Of course, you have! I'm a legend!"
The man next to him sighed. "You're embarrassing, Luke…"
Lucky clapped his hands. "Shut up, Sidekick. We have customers!"
Yami, gripping his scythe, arched an eyebrow. "And what are you selling, exactly?"
Lucky grinned even more. "Oh, my friend, I have all you would ever want. Magic scrolls, potions, swords, even sacred relics!"
He leaned forward, whispering dramatically. "I even picked up some… forbidden stuff."
Yami smiled. "Sounds shady."
Lucky released a fake gasp. "Shady? No, no, no! I'm just blessed by fate!"
Then, as if to illustrate, he raised his hand—
Ding!
[Possession Activated!]
[Currently Possessing: Hermes, God of speed]
Lucky vanished in an instant.
Then—
WHOOSH!
He appeared once more at Yami's back, patting him on his back.
"See? I got an ability for that!"
Yami flinched. "What the—"
Rei's jaw dropped. "Did he just teleport?"
Lina's eyes widened. "That was. insane speed."
Lucky laughed. "I may appear weak, but I am the world's greatest merchant!"
Yami's smile grew wider. "Oh, I already like you."
Lucky put a hand to his chest. "Of course! Now, business?"
Garrus grimaced. "This is giving me a headache."
Rei pushed Yami. "You know this guy is going to be trouble, don't you?" Yami just laughed. "Yeah… but I think I like trouble."
