Chapter 280 - Chapter 280: The Hero

"A longsword, two and a half feet long, of the rapier type. I want the best one in your shop. How much does it cost?"

Roa stated his requirements. In reality, Roa's need for a longsword wasn't too high; basically, anything usable would do.

The reason for choosing a two-and-a-half-foot longsword was that it was about the same length as a wooden sword, making it easy and familiar to use.

"Okay, sir, please wait a moment."

The owner nodded at Roa and began selecting from the weapon cabinets. Finally, the owner's gaze settled on a rapier. After pondering for a moment, he picked up the longsword, handed it to Roa, and said, "This should be the highest-level longsword forged here."

The owner picked out a rather exquisite longsword from the iron rack and handed it to Roa.

Roa took the longsword and glanced at it, nodding. "Okay, how much?"

"Ten million Eris."

Roa frowned subconsciously, raising an eyebrow. "That expensive?"

The owner wasn't angry and explained, "Sir, this has always been the price. The longsword is made of refined ore, and the forging method is quite complicated. Every hammer blow is infused with my effort, and the weapon has sharpness and durability enhancements."

Roa didn't continue listening and waved his hand, pointing to another longsword on the side. "How about that longsword?"

The owner was slightly stunned and looked in the direction Roa pointed. It was also a longsword, but compared to this gorgeous rapier, that longsword was ordinary.

The owner casually said, "That sword is for beginners, 100,000 Eris. Do you need me to get it?"

Roa nodded, and the owner didn't hesitate to bring the longsword over.

This longsword was much simpler than the first one the owner had brought. The hilt had no decorations, and the blade was ordinary, with nothing special about it. Roa held it and swung it, and the quality was only slightly better than a goblin's short sword. How much better, he didn't know.

Roa pondered for a while and ultimately chose this 100,000 Eris longsword.

It wasn't that Roa couldn't afford the 10 million Eris longsword; he simply felt that anyone who bought that sword would be ripped off.

Perhaps, as the owner said, this longsword was quite good in this place, with sharpness and durability enhancements, making it an excellent weapon in this backwater town.

But in Roa's eyes, the essential difference between a green weapon and a white weapon wasn't significant.

The owner didn't say much, nodded, handed the longsword to Roa, and smiled, "Welcome to visit again."

Roa nodded, responded, and headed towards the Adventurers Guild.

This time, the goal was clear: to check out the remaining dangerous species in the area.

Arriving at the Adventurers Guild, there weren't many adventurers in the early morning, just a few scattered around. Although the guild was open, only Luna was standing at the counter.

Seeing Roa's figure, Luna greeted him, "Good morning, Mr. Roa."

Roa nodded and smiled at Luna, "Good morning, Miss Luna."

Luna noticed the longsword hanging at Roa's waist and smiled, "It seems Mr. Roa has decided to pursue the path of swordsmanship?"

Roa casually replied, "Not entirely. I know a little about both swordsmanship and magic."

Roa didn't delve deeper into the topic and changed the subject. "Are there any difficult requests recently? The kind that needs my help."

Luna was wondering how to ask Roa to take care of those troublesome requests. Hearing Roa take the initiative, her eyes lit up, and she said without hesitation, "The crocodiles on the west lakeside are entrenched there. It's their breeding season, and they're very irritable and easily angered at this time. If possible, please eliminate them."

Roa nodded and continued to ask, "Anything else?"

Luna scratched her head embarrassedly and continued, "Because of the death of the One-Punch Bear, the magical beasts in the southern forest have also become restless. If possible, we still need Mr. Roa to take a look. Please."

Luna leaned forward slightly, her full chest tilting forward, her body bent, as if to say, "I'm counting on you for this."

A girl's cuteness always makes boys' hearts flutter. Even though Roa had seen a lot, he felt happy because of Luna's posture.

Roa had a good impression of Luna. The girl's posture made Roa smile, and after thinking for a while, he agreed directly.

"No problem. I'll take a look when I have time and help you solve some troublesome magical beasts."

Roa replied.

Luna's face showed a relaxed smile at Roa's promise, and she exclaimed, "Thank you so much. Otherwise, I don't know how long these tasks would be hanging there."

After listening to Luna's praise again, Roa began his schedule for the day.

The schedule was simple. The magical beasts on the west lakeside weren't that difficult to deal with. Roa stood on the shore and released a few spells below, solving them all.

After solving these guys, Roa heard the familiar sound again, and his level rose two levels from the original level eleven.

Roa pondered for a moment, and black threads emerged around him, spreading towards the depths of the lake.

Apart from the crocodiles, the magical creatures inside weren't strong. After exploring for a while, Roa regretfully withdrew his magic power.

"I thought so? This map is still too small."

The following time passed quickly. Roa directly took all the surrounding tasks and returned fully loaded every day.

Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, Roa had been in this world for five days.

Five days seemed short, but the changes to the town were earth-shattering.

The high-risk difficulty tasks were all swept away by Roa, leaving only intermediate or low-level monsters for the remaining adventurers.

After all, Kazuma and Aqua would also appear in this town. If he swept too much, causing most people in this town to lose their jobs, Roa would be guilty.

So Roa's actions were a good thing for those low-level guys. He neither snatched small monsters nor cleared out the powerful magical beasts around, minimizing uncontrollable risks.

A win-win situation.

However, as a result, Roa was also considered the strongest adventurer in this town by the adventurers.

Roa was also called the "Hero" by the adventurers in the town. "Hero" was a term of respect, but being given the name "Hero" was enough to prove how high Roa's prestige was in the town at this time.
