Chapter 79 - Different

The night breeze is filtering into my room through the open window, rustling the drapes, and awaking shivers across my skin. But my mind is way too far away from my body to pay it any mind as I stare at my elder sister, who is sitting across from me with a somber expression embedded on her regal face. 

"How do you feel right now, Liam?" Vivana asks, her eyes trained on me as if studying me. 

I feel numb. It feels like my limbs aren't working properly, like my thoughts are all over the place, and I am pitching down into an endless pit. It's like I am back to the time I was entranced. But I don't voice any of it. Instead, I say, "I am alright. How long have I been asleep for?" 

"Two weeks to be precise," Vivana replies, her eyes never leaving me, as though she is trying to see through my flesh and inside my head.
