Chapter 79 - [79] A Bite of Happiness

(Eri POV – Elementary School, End of First Day)

The classroom was filled with the scritching of crayon meeting papers. It was coloring time, and I was filling in a wobbly circle with red Ceylon when the bell rang.

I fill in the remaining spots quickly, completing my apple drawing, and smile as I admire it.

Then, the teacher clapped her hands. "Alright, everyone. School's finished for the day, and it's time to go home." She says in a sweet voice, and everyone responds excitedly.

"Yes, ma'am!" Children shout from all around, before they quickly start packing their bags as chairs scrape against the floor loudly.

I neatly packed my stationery into my bag, before nodding at how organised it is. I then lifted it off the floor and slung it onto my back, and I found its weight comforting.

Still, my heart beat faster than it had all day.

'Is he waiting for me?' I think excitedly, dashing to the window and squinting my eyes while searching for a familiar figure…

And then I see him.

He was standing next to the school gate, arms crossed casually as he waited patiently. Then, as if sensing my presence, he looked straight towards me and smiled. I grinned and waved towards him, and he gave me a little wave back.

"Kata." I hummed, before turning and walking quickly toward the classroom door.

"Eri, why are you smiling so much?" One of my new friends, a brown haired, brown eyed girl, asked while tugging at my sleeve.

"Because my brother's here to pick me up!" I said proudly, pointing toward the gate.

"Your brother?!" A green haired boy, another if my new friend, gasped. "Wait… isn't your brother Kata, from U.A.?!"

Other kids lean in, their eyes shining in interest.

"He won the Sports Festival, right?!"

"And he beat up Stain! My big brother showed me the article!"

"He's so cool! He's gonna be a pro hero soon, right?!"

I nodded quickly, my chest puffing out a little. "Mm-hm! That's him!"

They all buzz with excitement as they crowd around me.

"Can we meet him?!"

"Do you think he'd talk to us?!"

"I-I want his autograph!"

Their voices pile on top of each other, and I giggled, because it seems so silly.

'I didn't know Kata was this popular. But also… it feels nice that everyone likes Kata so much, just like I do.'

I skip through the hallways and toward the gate, my classmates trailing behind me like curious ducklings.

The moment I see him, I break into a run. "Kataaa!"

"Eri." He says affectionately, opening his arms, and I jump straight into his hug, nuzzling into his chest as he carries me.

"I had so much fun!" I told him quickly, squeezing tighter. "I made friends with everyone, and I learned so much! The teacher even said I did a good job!"

There's so much I want to tell him about today, but it requires more words than I can say in one breath.

He looked down at me, as calm as always, with a comforting smile on his lips. "That's good to hear. I'm happy that you're having fun."

Only then did I notice the cluster of kids standing a few metres away, hiding behind the gate, and each other, as they nervously peek at us, most of their gazes fixed on Kata.

"Are these your new friends?" He asks sounding amused.

"Yeah!" I nodded and waved them over. "Come say hi!"

The moment the words leave my mouth, they rush over.

"Are you really Kata from U.A.?!"

"Is it true you beat Stain just by waving your hands?!"

"Can you show us your quirk?!"

"S-sign my notebook, please!!"

Their voices overlapped in a storm of breathless questioning and laughter. Kata doesn't look annoyed, though—he just humors them, answering their questions one by one calmly. He arranged them neatly, making them raise their hands to ask their questions.

I watch proudly with a huge grin as I'm cradled in Kata's arms. 'See? He's amazing, isn't he? That's my big brother.'

After a while, Kata cut the Q&A short, and gave a small nod to everyone. "Thank you for being friends with Eri, I appreciate it. But we'll have to stop here… it looks like your parents are waiting."

The kids all straightened, like soldiers being praised by their captain, before bursting into more cheers and waving goodbye as they ran off toward their own parents.

When it was finally quiet again, Kata turned back to me. "Ready to head home?"

I nodded, but then he looks at my bag.

"Want me to carry it?" He asked casually.

I shake my head fast, holding the straps tightly. "No! I can do it myself!" I say seriously.

He doesn't argue, smiling instead.

He doesn't teleport us home immediately. Instead, he takes me to the park, sets me down and we walk hand in hand as I tell him everything about my day. Every activity we did, all the friends I made, and even the pretty Apple I drew right before school ended.

And the whole time, I couldn't stop smiling.

(Kata POV – Kata's House)

We materialize in the living room after leaving the park, and my brow furrows the moment I realise the problem.

'Of course… this is going to be troublesome.'

"Kata…" Eri's voice comes out hesitantly from beside me. Her eyes dart between me and the couch. "Kata…s?" She whispers in confusion, her grip tightening around my hand.

Seated there—looking perfectly relaxed—is… me.

Even though I can make clones, Eri's never actually seen them before. So, even if this isn't a clone, there suddenly being 2 of me must be quite the shock.

"That's just Himiko." I explain, giving Eri's hand a reassuring squeeze. "She's using her quirk to look like me."

On cue, "I" pout from the couch. "Boo~! You ruined it already. I wanted to see your shocked face when you realised it." She sprawls back, arms flopping dramatically. "C'mon, tell me you were at least a little surprised?"

Eri nods quickly, eyes wide. "I didn't know you could do that, Himiko!" She walks right up to her and pokes at her cheek, tugging at the skin as if to ascertain the quality of the disguise.

Meanwhile, I pinch the bridge of my nose. "I expected you to do something like this sooner or later… but did you really need to steal my clothes too?"

Her quirk copies clothes too, but I can tell the ones she's wearing are real.

"Hm?" She tilts my head in confusion. "Would you rather I wore my own?"

The thought sends a shiver down my spine. Her crossdressing as me? No thanks. But before I can respond—

"Wow!" Eri gasps, eyes sparkling. "That'd be amazing! Then we could do a fashion show!"

Himiko perks up instantly, her grin widening. "Oh, yes. A fashion show! Eri, you be the judge and we'll—"

"Not happening." I cut her off flatly before the idea takes root.

Eri's face falls. "But… it sounded fun…"

Himiko clicks her tongue. "Tch. You never let us have any fun." She sulks, crossing her arms.

"You can have fun. Just not while wearing my face and desecrating my image."

"But your body's really nice." She says, cupping her cheeks and batting her eyelashes, trying to act cute.

It's torture—seeing my own face make those expressions.

"…Did you do anything weird while like this?" I ask carefully.

Eri tilts her head. "Weird?"

Himiko mirrors her innocence. "Weird? What could I possibly do with your body?"

I narrow my eyes, waiting. She only smiles wider, lips twitching with mischief.

Finally, she sighs, throwing her hands up. "Okay, fine! I might've taken a little peek." She blushes—her… my face flushing scarlet in the most humiliating way.

"Peek at what?" Eri asks, completely oblivious.

Himiko leans in conspiratorially. "Don't worry, Kata. It's very impressive. You should be proud."

I breathe slowly. Deeply. 'This is my fault for not considering she'd do that.'

"I'm cutting you off." I say flatly.

Her head snaps up. "Cut off?!"

"Yeah. No more of my blood. I can't trust you with it." I say plainly, unable to imagine what other atrocities she might commit in my body.

Her eyes widen like I've just stabbed her. "Wha—nooo!" She bolts upright. "You can't! I'll starve to death!" Her voice wavers, tears forming in her eyes. "I won't do it again!"

I'm not convinced, and before I can refuse…

Eri tugs at my sleeve, looking between us. "I… I don't know what she did, but she looks really sorry. Can you forgive her, Kata?" Her little voice is cautious, even a little pleading.

"Even if you say that—" I begin, but Eri's eyes meet mine, full of worry.

"Please…" She whispers cutely.

Himiko also undies her transformation, her body melting back into herself with a layer of gray, vicious liquid covering her skin. My clothes hang loosely around her frame, and she looks up at me with big, pitiful eyes. "Please, Kata…"Sshe says softly, her lip trembling exaggeratedly.

'Ugh.' My chest tightens with the weight of both of their stares. I groan and finally sigh.

"…Fine. But you're banned from transforming into me."

"Yaaay!" Himiko cheers at the same time Eri beams, and the two of them throw their arms around each other, hugging tightly.

I rub my temple in resignation. 'I didn't realise I could still get headaches.' I sigh, feeling a migraine begin to blossom.

After their little celebration, Himiko disappeared into the bathroom to shower, while Eri changed into her pajamas.

Eri and I cooked dinner together—nothing fancy, just rice, miso, and grilled fish. The smell of it filled the room, and by the time we were setting the table, Himiko reemerged, adorned in one of my shirts, her damp hair clinging to her cheeks as she plopped lazily onto the couch.

We ate together, Eri animatedly recounting her first day while Himiko teased her and offered snarky commentary. I chimed in now and then, the sound of chatter and laughter making the house feel alive.

Afterwards, while washing dishes, I glanced at Himiko.

"Nezu said you can start class tomorrow." I said casually.

"…Eh?" She froze mid-stretch, before her face lit up in a wide grin. "Wait, really? With you?"

"You're in a different class, but yeah. Why are you that excited?" I ask in confusion.

"Why wouldn't I be?" She shot back instantly. "I get to go to school with my crush. Normal classes, normal life… it's basically a dream. Mina and Momo are there too."

'I guess she really has always wanted that—just to be a normal girl.'

Later, after tucking Eri into bed, I headed toward mine. I opened the door… only to find Himiko already sprawled across it, tangled in my blanket.

"You've got your own bed. You don't need to keep sneaking into mine." I say dryly.

"Hm?" She tilted her head innocently. "I'm not sneaking anymore. I'm being very open about it. And I like sleeping with you better." She rolled onto her side, grinning.

I sighed, too used to this by now and climbed in beside her, pulling the covers over us, and closed my eyes.

Almost immediately, she presses against me, arms wrapping around my chest, her face nuzzling into my side.

"Kata~," she murmured softly. "I'm thirsty…"

I crack one eye open. "You're not planning to transform into me again, are you?"

She pouts. "You banned me from doing that. I'll behave."

"Aleight." I sigh. "Just bite and drink."

"Okay~!" She chirps, a little too eagerly.

Her tone set off alarms in my head. My radar picked up her shifting closer, her movements a slightly different from normal. I stop her with my quirk before she could go further.

"…What are you doing?" I ask, opening my eyes to find her face inches from mine. Her arms are looped around my neck, her legs tangling with mine under the blanket. The warmth of her body pressed right against me, every curve and contour impossible to ignore.

"I told you," she whispers, smiling dangerously. "I'm thirsty."

I swallow, suddenly hyper-aware of our position. "That's not all you're trying to do."

She doesn't even hesitate. "Of course not. You already know how I feel. And you're not stupid—you know what I want."

My pulse hammers in my ears.

"And you know how I feel too." I say. "I told you that don't know how to return your feelings."

Her eyes gleam. "Then let me show you." She tilted her head slightly, her gaze flickering down to my lips. "Unless you're going to stop me."

I hold my breath as she leans closer.

"This is way too intimate." I manage to say. "Way too suddenly."

She smirks, unbothered by my statement. "Isn't sharing blood more intimate than this?"

I pause. "…I guess so?"

"Then what's the problem?" Her grin widend victoriously. "You don't even have an excuse anymore."

"Himiko—"

My words were smothered as she closed the distance, pressing her lips to mine.

Warmth shot through me, my heart leaping into my throat. Her lips are soft, warm, insistent—her arms tightening around my neck to keep me from pulling away, and dor a second, panic jolts through me, but melts as I give in, eyes fluttering shut.

I kiss her back, slow and hesitant at first, then deeper, drawn into her warmth. My arms find their way around her waist, pulling her closer, until it felt like there was no space left between us.

The world narrows to the just taste of her lips, the brush of her breath against mine, the faint tremble of her body as she hold on tighter.

Then, a sharp pain tears through my lip.

"Ack—!" I pull back, shocked, as she bit down, drawing blood.

She giggles against my mouth, her voice husky with delight. "Told you I was thirsty."

Before I can complain, she leans in again, tongue brushing over the cut, sucking gently as if savoring every drop. Her cheeks are flushed, eyes hazy, expression twisted between mischief and desire as she clings to me.

I stare down at her, my chest heaving. 'Does this even count as a kiss?'

But with Himiko curled in my arms, blushing as she drinks from me like it was the sweetest thing in the world—there was no denying it did.

A/N: Hello Everyone. How are you all? If you've enjoyed the chapter and book thus far, please consider leaving me some comments, reviews, or power stones. It really helps the book out.

So... I'm very embarrassed (kinda shy), after writing this. It's a first for me, in many ways😭. But on to the chapter.

I suppose, Eri's segment was cute. She made friends, had a good day, and they took a walk in the park. All fun, wholesome stuff. Kata's quite popular it seems, which was never really explored before, and he's a lot more approachable now, given how he handled the kids.

Then, the whole Yoga being Kata situation. I don't know if it was OOC, but I tried. She won't transform into Kata, and it was mainly for fun, building a bit of #ri's curiosity towards Toga's quirk, and maybe someday overcome her fear of getting blood drawn.

Then... The last part... Yeah. I'll be honest. I'm shit at stuff like this. I tried, and even I felt it was underwhelming. I neither have personal experience to draw from, nor am I super creative at stuff like this, so I hope we can make do with this🫠. I tried to make it kinda romantic, as well as kinda convincing in how Toga gets away with doing it.

The main point is, Kata would stop it if he was truly against it. Like he did when she first tried. He too is kinda curious, since, if you look at his logic, his reasoning isn't that he doesn't like Himiko, but rather that he can't reciprocate her feelings well. But she doesn't care. And I definitely wasn't gonna have it go further (degenerates! Hentai!}, since y'know, way too soon. Himiko biting him was also her way of handling the embarrassment, while still getting her kissing (sucking blood). Quite sly.

And predictably, the other girls will find out, sense of urgency arises, and Kata's own curiosity also awakening, etc. There'll likely be more stuff like this in future. Himiko herself is definitely not gonna be holding back as much anymore. So yeah... Time for the romance and harem aspects to pop off!

Also, looking at the image, would it be better if I use images like this, or should I just avoid them (given that it'd be someone else?). I can always do AI ones, or ones that don't link to any other characters like Deku.

But anyway, that's all from me. I'ma go and die from embarrassment and shame in a quiet corner. Good night/day to everyone 🤣😭
