Chapter 65 - A Hypocrisy

"I'm here at His Majesty's request. He wants you to come to his study."

At those words, Arthur was stunned. His eyes widened as he stared at Rucos in disbelief.

"What are you saying, Prime Minister? His Majesty summoned me?" he asked, surprised.

"Yes, His Majesty did summon you. He asked me to personally deliver the message," Rucos confirmed.

Arthur fell silent, his brows slightly furrowed. He had anticipated that Nathan might reach out to him, but he hadn't expected the man to send Rucos.

Was there an ulterior motive behind this?

His expression grew tense—confused and cautious. Nathan was known for his cunning and ruthlessness; he would do anything to achieve his goals.

This was evident when he agreed to Victoria's request to ignore Sharon, as if she didn't exist.

He did it to appease Victoria's dissatisfaction, which, if left unchecked, could have caused a rift within the royal family.
