Chapter 19 - A Battle Between Gods

There was no longer a world to witness what was happening. No sky, no earth—only the absolute void that Rain had created by his will. A place that did not belong to any known reality, where laws no longer mattered, and concepts themselves could be reshaped.

But even in this void… Rain was not alone.

"You've brought me into your world, Rain Erthon." The man in the dark cloak spoke, his voice steady, though his eyes were filled with suspicion. "But do you realize the consequences?"

Rain did not respond immediately. Instead, he raised his hand, and the Black Butterfly behind him began to fade, transforming into a shadow that stretched across the void itself.

"Consequences?" he finally asked, his tone cold. "Since when have I been someone who fears consequences?"

The man did not need an answer. He understood that his opponent had abandoned all human limitations the moment he chose to break the rules of this world.

But even if Rain had become something beyond comprehension, he was not the only one who wielded power in this battle.

"Then let's see whose will is stronger."

There was no warning sound. No trace of movement.

Rain only felt something piercing through the void—something that wasn't merely energy but a raw concept of power itself.

He dodged at the last moment, but a part of his shoulder was torn apart, as if reality itself had rejected his existence in that spot.

"An attack that doesn't rely on speed or strength..." he muttered, gazing at the man before him. "But on erasing existence itself."

The man did not deny it. "In a place like this, conventional power means nothing. Here, only those who understand the deepest concepts can survive."

Rain smiled, but his eyes burned with something other than anger—something closer to a lethal excitement.

"Then let's play by these rules."

In an instant, Rain was gone.

The man realized it immediately, but he could not pinpoint the source of danger.

Then

The void around him exploded.

This was not just an attack; it was a reconstruction of the space itself. The nonexistent black ground began to shift, as if it possessed its own consciousness, trying to consume everything in its path.

The man leaped backward, but the void itself was no longer behaving as it should. Suddenly, he found himself falling—as if gravity had become a fluctuating concept, no longer bound by fixed rules.

"You're playing with fire, Rain!"

But there was no response.

Instead, he felt something approaching at an unimaginable speed.

Then

A strike.

Not just a physical blow, but something deeper. As if a part of his very essence had been torn away without him even understanding how it happened.

"Impossible..." he muttered, struggling to regain his footing in this void that no longer obeyed him.

Then, he heard Rain's voice.

"I told you… this isn't just a battle between the strong."

At that moment, for just a single instant, the man saw something he was never meant to witness.

It was not merely a possible future it was more like a warning from a reality yet to unfold.

He saw himself, standing amidst ruin, his body covered in wounds, his eyes utterly hollow as if everything had already ended.

And he saw Rain… standing above him, his eyes devoid of emotion, as if his fate had been decided from the very beginning.

"This isn't just a fight," the man murmured, struggling to grasp what he had just seen.

But there was no time to dwell on it.

Because Rain was already moving and this time, he did not intend to stop.

The moment Rain lunged forward, the man felt something he had not felt in a very long time fear.

Not fear of death, but something far worse…

Fear of the unknown.

Because Rain Erthon was no longer human. He was no longer even a monster.

He had become something else entirely.

He had become… a fate that could not be stopped.

To be continued...
