The god loved humans, they gifted humans with mana, allowing humans to use them to wield magic.
With no limits on magic, humans strived to be a god themselves and got close to it as they had infinite amount of time to reach so.
Slowly looking down on the god that gave them the powers in the first place.
The god who was angered by those humans set a limit to their mana, along a creation of the goddess Ananke, cursing the humans with a limit to their life.
"That's how the concept of 'death' and mana lock came to the world! So you must never be greedy, okay?" Ana said to the kids as she closed the book.
What she just read was a bed time story known throughout the whole empire.
Although it is viewed and told more as a fairy tale, the story indeed is true.
After the last child fell asleep, Ana looked out the window and whispered, "For a cursed world, the night sky is surely beautiful." As hundreds of stars reflected on her green iris.
She let out a sigh, after all, she should be up there among the stares staring down at this world, not looking up towards the place she was supposed to be in.

Snip snip snip… a pale hand holding a golden scissor snipped away a thread after another.
A women that killed her twin for her identity… that's changing fate- snip.
Magician trying to break the lock? Snip.
Trying to reach immortality? Snip.
Switching babies? Changing fate… snip-
two threads were cut at once.
The infant did not have any fault in this she knew, but that infant has now gone against destiny, there's simply no other option.
The goddess stared as each owner of the thread met a tragic end.
How long does she have to do this? The goddess wondered, thinking back to a story of the curse that did has given humans.
A footstep echoed in the dark cave followed by a familiar voice "How do you cut those threads without feeling a single remorse? Don't you pity their curse?"
"A curse? I believe it's a blessing. those humans only strived to be a god to escape the infinity of pain in their life. In someways, they have reached this goal. But why do they try to get their 'curse' of immortality back now that it's gone? They only have to suffer once before being blessed with permanent peacefulness unlike their ancestor who had to repeat the painful process over and over… I guess I might change my perspective if a limit to my life existed too."
"Well you don't have to become a human to think in their views… a thing called empathy exists you know? Try understanding them first like 'what if I was in that situation?'"
"I believe that will only hinder my worth ethics that I have kept for centuries."
"As a god of curiosity, perhaps I should sparkle some curiosity to you. Isn't it boring repeating the same process over and over while knowing only the knowledge allowed for you?" He said while putting an arm around the goddess.
"I believe that's called forbidden knowldge." She said while snipping another thread.
"Aren't you curious to what will happen if you don't cut someone's thread? What will happen if the human truly reaches immortality?"
"History repeats itself… they will try to be god, it's obvious. Don't you have things to do Coeus?" She finally stopped snipping and looked up at Coeus which made her frown. His golden hair was too bright for her eyes that adjusted to this dark gloomy cave.
"Well I don't have any job anymore! I thought I'd drop by since I'll be banished soon." Coeus said with a bright smile.
She dropped her scissor. "YOU WHAT?!?!?!"
"Forbidden knowledge, it got found out." He shrugged.
Before she could process what he said, it was too late. Bright lights immediately surrounded him, dragging him down through the clouds of the realm of heaven.
Now she was truly alone in the dark cave with nothing but her thoughts and questions that Coeus left her… she decided to answer that question.
"Although the sinner committed a grave crime of going against the one god, they have carried on their job without question for centuries. Her sin is deemed to be from the effect of the former god of curiosity, Coeus. Considering those factors, she shall be punished with a lighter sentence. Thereby banished to the human realm with a chance of return."
The golden lights surrounded her as she closed her eyes. When she reopened them, she was an infant dropped off in a orphanage.
