"Nicholas, where are you?" Hannah's heart was filled with jealousy and anger, but she had to pretend to smile. The voice coming through the receiver was as gentle as spring water.
Pressing the phone to his ear, Nicholas continued playing his cards and said indifferently, "Playing cards at the club."
After hearing Nicholas had taken Beatrice to the club, Hannah felt even less jealous but had to force a smile and say, "Do you need me to come over and keep you company?"
"No need, Beatrice is here."
Nicholas's tone always remained indifferent, his coldness was evident, and Hannah could no longer continue to pester, gently saying, "Oh, continue with your card game then. Let me talk to Beatrice."
Nicholas stretched his long arm holding the phone over, "Your sister wants to talk to you."
Beatrice took the phone and walked towards the window, distancing herself a bit from the card table, coldly asking, "What's up?"
