"Nicholas, is there something important? Do you need any help? Why did you leave before the press conference was over?" Hannah Hargrave's voice came through. Nicholas Croft rubbed his temples and said casually, "It's nothing, I'm just a bit tired, so I came back to rest."
Hannah knew well that it wasn't that simple. If it was just fatigue, he wouldn't have left such an important press conference midway.
But since Nicholas said so, she didn't press further and just said politely, "Oh, rest well then, I won't disturb you."
As she was about to hang up, next to Nicholas, Sophie Foster drowsily heard him on the phone, and cuddled closer, murmuring restlessly, "Uncle..."
"Be good, sleep."
Nicholas kissed Sophie on the forehead and tossed the phone aside.
In the conference hall, Hannah's grip tightened around her phone, her expression turning unsightly. If she heard correctly, there was a woman's voice beside Nicholas, calling him Uncle...
