"Why are you so careless? Do you know how expensive this millet is? Can't you be a bit more careful?"
Lorelei Howard turned to her younger son, Joseph Lancaster, with displeasure, while Violet Zimmerman lowered her head and sat down in her seat, understanding why her uncle reacted so strongly.
"Granddaughter-in-law, are you pregnant?" The old man showed surprise, and Lorelei Howard also turned back, asking with a face full of expectation.
"Violet, tell mom, have you had any cravings lately, or have you felt like vomiting when seeing certain things?"
Lorelei Howard finished asking, and at the adjacent table, Joseph Lancaster immediately perked up his ears.
Violet Zimmerman forced a smile, thanked the servant who brought her the porridge, and then said to Lorelei Howard, "Mom, I don't have any particular cravings and no food aversions either."
