In early winter, every household kept their doors and windows tightly closed. As Joseph came home from work, he immediately caught the scent of fish.
"Hmm? Why does it smell like fish? Violet, did you buy it yourself? Why didn't you call me? I could have brought it after work."
Before Violet could say anything, the servant waiting at the door spoke, "Family Head, it wasn't Madam who went, it was the Second Young Master who brought it over."
Joseph showed no change in expression. He slipped off his shoes and put on slippers, smiling as he asked, "Oh, it was Joseph who brought it over. Violet, why didn't you keep him for lunch?"
