Symbolically knocking on the door, Joseph Lancaster then pushed it open and entered. Seeing only Violet Zimmerman, he asked confusedly, "Where's big brother? Why are you here alone?"
Violet Zimmerman stood up from in front of the dressing table and walked toward him.
Only then did Joseph Lancaster notice she had dressed up deliberately.
Her hair remained curled, but not as old-fashioned as twenty years ago. She wore a plain cashmere sweater, wide-legged pants below, paired with a shawl. As she walked over, the pants and shawl fluttered enchantingly.
Without waiting for Joseph Lancaster's reaction, Violet Zimmerman proactively grabbed his hand and walked inside with him, "Come in and sit; it's me who needs to talk to you. What do you need from Daxton?"
Almost twenty years, Joseph Lancaster had never been so close to Violet Zimmerman, feeling somewhat inexplicably excited.
