"It's okay," Kyle Kinston said, "besides, this time it was Daniel Harris who saved you. It's only right for me to express my gratitude."
He handed her the pajamas, helping her change with utmost care and gentleness. When they returned to bed, he held her and said, "Alright, try to sleep a bit more. I'm here with you, even if you have another nightmare, I'm here."
"Okay." She closed her eyes, placing both hands on his chest, enveloped by his presence, which gave her a sense of safety.
And he, with a deep gaze, watched her sleeping face.
On one hand, he was relieved that Daniel Harris saved her; otherwise, she might have been in the intensive care unit instead of his embrace. Yet, on the other hand, he felt uneasy, fearing she might feel guilty towards Daniel and keep him on her mind, afraid of future troubles arising.
"Mabel, am I just being overly paranoid?" he murmured softly to her, "Clearly, you love me this much, what do I have to worry about?"
