"Okay." She smiled, went upstairs to change into some loungewear, then put on an apron and entered the kitchen.
Kyle Kinston followed her into the kitchen, helping Mabel Quinn with the preparations.
The two worked in seamless coordination, and since the servants of the Kinston Family were given the day off, the whole house was just the two of them.
As it was just the two of them, the menu Mabel prepared consisted of five dishes and a soup, plus three cold dishes. For just two people, this was quite a lot, but once the dishes were laid out on the table, she noticed it seemed a bit lacking, at least compared to those New Year's Eve dinner photos her friends would post on social media, which were always full of dishes covering the entire table.
"Doesn't it feel like there's a bit less?" she said, a little embarrassed.
"Not at all, I think there's plenty, and if we can finish all of this, it will be quite an achievement." Kyle said, pulling Mabel to sit down.
