Alice wouldn't be in any trouble, would she? Mabel Quinn called again and went directly to Alice Conley's house. The call was answered by Alice's mother. Mabel made up a reason and asked if Alice had come home, and the response was that she hadn't.
"Then when Alice gets home, could she give me a call? Her phone is off, and I want to quickly confirm something about the script with her."
"Okay," Alice's mother replied.
After ending the call, Mabel Quinn finally dialed Dorian Howards' number. She had saved it earlier because she was taking care of Kyle Kinston when he had a fever, but she hadn't expected to use it at such a time.
The phone rang twice, but then was abruptly hung up. When she tried calling again, no matter what she did, she couldn't get through.
