"Oh, I already told them yesterday," Alice Conley said.
Mabel Quinn was dumbfounded, "You told them?!" That was fast-paced.
"Yeah, I figured, better to get it over with sooner rather than later. Besides, I'm pregnant now; it's not like they can hit me or make me kneel on a washboard," Alice said.
Mabel felt a bit speechless, looking up to the sky.
"And then, what was your parents' reaction?" Mabel asked.
Thinking about the scene at home last night, Alice actually didn't quite know how to describe it. When she knocked on her parents' door and entered their room, they were lying in bed watching TV.
She, like a primary school student reporting, braced herself and said, "Mom, Dad, I'm pregnant."
The result was her mom spilled water all over the quilt, and her dad rolled off the bed.
"You... what did you say? Pregnant? Who's pregnant?" her mom asked, ignoring the quilt, and ran off the bed to question her.
