"Dad, no matter what, I just want you to take good care of yourself. In the future if… we really find Mom, even if she really hates you and resents you, please still take care of your health, okay? Do it for me, for Ivy, and for the baby in my belly." Mabel Quinn said.
"Okay, Dad understands." Edward Quinn sighed and lightly patted his daughter's hand. "This old bag of bones of mine will hold on."
Mabel Quinn chatted with her father for quite a while before finally leaving the Hospital. Maybe, in a subtle way, she could let her mother know about her father's guilt all these years, let her mother slowly forgive him bit by bit. Perhaps when the two of them meet in the future, things might take a turn for the better.
Besides, yesterday, when her mother wasn't in a crazy spell, she actually still had some capacity for thought; she wasn't completely lost in her own world and could still communicate with people.
That made Mabel feel as if she could see a sliver of hope again.
