Chapter 159 - 159. Better to believe it exists than not.

Ever since my granddaughter was born, she's always been a cheerful child, rarely showing a serious expression. It seems something significant has happened. Hua Laohan and his son exchanged glances and couldn't help but become more serious.

"What's wrong? Why so serious?"

"Grandpa, I had a nightmare."

"So it was a nightmare," Hua Laohan was relieved. "Did it scare our Jin'er? Don't be afraid, Grandpa is here. Grandpa will protect our Jin'er!"

So the child got frightened and came to find them as soon as she woke up. Hua Laohan wiped the water stains from his hands onto his clothes and patted his granddaughter's head, comforting her.

Once Hua Laohan spoke, the scene from the dream where Grandpa got injured protecting her and eventually died surfaced in her mind.

The "her" in the dream wasn't her current self; she had no space, no food, struggling to survive a disaster with her family, and later only her second brother, father, and little brother were left in the family.
