Zhao Chun took Tian Sangsang to meet the landlord, who gave them a tour of the property.
It had to be said, this was a fourfold courtyard house even larger than Zhao Chun's threefold courtyard. Estimating in her mind, it was at least nine hundred square meters. As they entered the first courtyard, it was remarkably spacious, filled with greenery—flowering crabapple trees, a pot of oleanders, and various other flowers and plants. It was serene and utterly inviting.
The layout aligned perfectly with feng shui planting principles: plant peach and willow in the east, elm in the west; plum and jujube in the south, apricot and pear in the north. Elm trees shade the rear eaves, while peach and plum trees fill the front yard. A household is blessed by an elm tree in its backyard, warding off evil spirits.
