It was serene and utterly inviting.

The layout aligned perfectly with feng shui planting principles: plant peach and willow in the east, elm in the west; plum and jujube in the south, apricot and pear in the north. Elm trees shade the rear eaves, while peach and plum trees fill the front yard. A household is blessed by an elm tree in its backyard, warding off evil spirits.
