The day before Song Ci's birthday, she was summoned into the palace by the Empress Dowager Wang, under the guise of meeting old friends, but in reality, it was also to celebrate her birthday.
Empress Dowager Wang pointed to the longevity noodles in front of her and said, "For your birthday, I wanted to go to your residence to join in the festivities, but with my status, it would cause a stir and make everyone uncomfortable, so I simply called you into the palace."
Song Ci was moved and said teasingly, "Such a small birthday, and you took the trouble to remember it."
"I'm getting old, day by day, not only my body, but even my eyes and ears are not as good as they used to be. Naturally, I need to see the people I want to see while I still can." Empress Dowager Wang said with a smile.
Song Ci's eyes grew moist, and she pretended to be gloomy, saying, "I think you're purposely trying to make me cry, talking like this without any need."
