Outside the hospital room, Song Yansheng was anxiously waiting, feeling very worried.
Liao Qinghe was sitting nearby, but he didn't know how to console him. Xu Jing was at home, accompanying the elderly lady.
Earlier, Song Yansheng had shouted too loudly, waking up the elderly lady, so Xu Jing had to stay behind to calm her down.
He told Liao Qinghe to call him immediately if anything happened.
After waiting for quite a while, the doctor finally came out.
The two quickly approached her to inquire about the situation. The doctor was a slender African-American woman in her forties. She saw them and slightly shrugged her shoulders, saying in English, "The patient is fine now. You can go in and see her!"
After saying this, she asked, "Who is the patient's husband?"
Song Yansheng promptly responded, "I am!"
The African-American doctor raised an eyebrow at him and left, leaving Song Yansheng puzzled.
