Two taxis, one in front of the other, almost simultaneously stopped at the gate of the Juvenile Detention Center.
Jiang Lingxi looked over and saw Jiang Wenhu and Jiang Runcheng getting out of the taxi in front, so she walked over to greet them.
Shen Yunqing followed her, and upon arrival, after Jiang Lingxi called out to her parents, she also greeted them, addressing them as Uncle and Auntie.
Jiang Wenhu responded with a smile, her face full of joy.
Seeing her son about to come home, and her daughter and son-in-law being loving and harmonious, she was so happy she almost wanted to cry.
Jiang Runcheng struggled to maintain the dignity of the head of the family, and his face, reddened by recent drinking, slightly eased, "Yunqing, you're so busy, yet you made the effort to come."
"It's the right thing to do."
"Let's go in." Jiang Lingxi said, turning halfway around when her peripheral vision caught the sight of a figure getting out of the other taxi, causing her to pause.
