Ji Wei was visibly stunned. She looked at Leng Yan, shook her head, seemingly in disbelief. She always had the habit of taking her medicine with some rock candy to counteract the bitterness, something Leng Yan was aware of.
"I forgot to buy rock candy."
"I'll eat it." She smiled lightly, her eyes welling up with tears, "Do you not care about me at all now? You always used to have rock candy ready for me."
A sharp pain passed through Leng Yan's heart, and he turned his face slightly away.
Ji Wei took the medicine from his hand, wiped her tears with the back of her hand, unwrapped the packaging, and turned him to face her, her beautiful eyes teary, "Watch me eat it, Yan. Watch me to see if I really swallow it, so you won't suspect me of anything again."
"Ji Wei." Leng Yan's lips moved, reaching out for the medicine in her hand, then suddenly pulling back.
He had to see it with his own eyes to truly be at ease.
"Okay, I've finished taking it."
