At night, the man indeed didn't touch her, but his kisses were far from restrained.

Delphine was very annoyed afterward, but once she vented her anger, she let it go. For one thing, Ignatius Leclair was an obsessive man to the point of being pathological, with a strong desire for conquest. Now that he controlled every aspect of her life, it was better for her to be pragmatic. For another, perhaps being pregnant had made her increasingly zen—so long as it didn't touch her bottom line, she would let him have his way.

While Delphine was annoyed on her end, Ignatius Leclair, for his part, slept better than he had in a long time. His insomnia over the past few days had been mostly related to her. Now that he could hold her in his arms every night, not only had his insomnia improved, but even his headaches had subsided significantly.

Having resolved his sleep problems, the man finally had the mood to deal with the remaining trivial matters.
