Chapter 2 - Leaving Pallet Town

As I got ready to release Pikachu, I noticed Professor Oak moving a bit behind to avoid getting zapped. I smirked and released Pikachu towards where Professor Oak was standing, hoping he would also get zapped if Pikachu used Thunder.

As soon as Pikachu came out, he looked at me, clearly pissed. Do I care? No, I was focused on checking something else out.

[It is found that the host has obtained their first Pokémon.]

'A system. Okay, now this is what I'm talking about. I know about systems, as even though I was a judicial magistrate, I'm also an avid reader of novels, especially those with harem and 18+ scenes, and they all have systems in them.

Now, let's check out this Pikachu' I thought after the system window closed and I looked at Pikachu. Although it seemed like a lot of time had passed, it only took about 10 seconds at most, as I'm quite a fast reader.

I looked at Pikachu and said, "Hey, Pikachu. I'm your partner. Let's become the strongest and the best together" I moved towards it, and I noticed Pikachu was ready to zap me.

I didn't back down because Pokémon are like animals. If you show them weakness, they'll come for you; if you're brave, they'll respect you. Although it doesn't apply to all animals, and Pokémon likewise, it works on most of them.

I saw Pikachu use Thunder and zap both me and Professor Oak, but I only felt a tingling sensation due to wearing rubber shoes, while Professor Oak got zapped with full force.

Pikachu was surprised that I didn't get zapped, so it used more power, but the tingling sensation just got faster without really hurting me. Right now, this mouse was getting irritating, and I wanted to smash it, but I held back... for today, at least.

Not wanting to feel any more tingling and to prevent Professor Oak from getting his butt crispy, I grabbed Pikachu's tail. From the Pokémon anime, I knew that Pikachu can't use electric attacks if its tail is controlled.

Pikachu was surprised by my action and tried to zap me, but nothing happened. Professor Oak, who had fallen, rose to his feet. Honestly, I was surprised by his quick recovery.

"Ah, Ash, please take this Pikachu and the Pokédex on the table, along with the Pokéballs," Professor Oak said, before sitting down and eating some type of pink medicine.

As I took the Pokédex and Pokéballs, I turned around, only to find that Professor Oak was almost back to his earlier state. That was fast.

"Then, I'll take my leave," I said to Professor Oak, Pikachu still in my hands, with his tail grabbed so he couldn't zap anyone. He struggled only to be fail.

"Ah, Ash, can I ask why you didn't get zapped?" Professor Oak asked.

"I have rubber in my shoes. The entire bottom part is made of rubber."

"Oh, how did you know that it would be useful today?"

"I didn't. I was going to wear these shoes anyway," I lied through my teeth.

"Oh, ok, best of luck, and be careful on your journey."

"Thank you, Professor Oak," I said before leaving.

After I left, Professor Oak thought about my strange behavior, which wasn't the classic Ash behavior. He had been expecting Ash to rush in wearing pajamas and act like an idiot, but today's Ash was the complete opposite.

"Did this kid grow up this much? But how? And that in one night? Maybe it's the responsibility," Professor Oak said, justifying Ash's today's behavior.

.

After taking Pikachu, I walked out of the lab while still carrying it in the same position. As I stepped outside, I noticed that almost half of Pallet Town was there, along with that beautiful woman who I now recognized as Ash's mother, Delilah Ketchum.

Now I understood why she was so famous. She had two big reasons for that, after all.

"Oh, Ash, I'm so proud of you! You're finally going to fulfill your dream and start your Pokémon training," she said, hugging me, then started crying.

"But I'm going to miss you so much. Oh, my little boy," she continued crying, but before I could say anything, she suddenly shifted again.

"I packed your sneakers and jeans, nice clean shirts and underwear, your favorite snacks, and some hot chocolate in case you want something warm. But be careful not to burn yourself! And I packed a pair of rubber gloves for your laundry, along with a new clothesline to hang it out to dry. And remember to change your underwear every day," she said.

"Mom, you're embarrassing me in front of everyone. I'm already big enough; I can take care of myself," I said, clearly embarrassed. She had changed her words and expressions in just two minutes. That was even faster than a guy giving false evidence and getting caught in front of everyone.

"Hmm? Is that your Pokémon?" she asked, looking at Pikachu.

"It is."

"I thought all Pokémon stayed inside their Poké Balls."

"I don't mind it."

"Oh," she said, and I clearly didn't mind my Pokémon staying outside their Poké Balls, as long as they were obedient.

"Well, I'll leave now."

"Okay, and don't forget to change your underwear every day," she said. But before she could continue, I ran off toward the outskirts of Pallet Town.

.

As I came running out of Pallet Town, I heard a sound. I looked toward where it was coming from and found a wild Pidgey.

I just sighed and rested for a bit. As I closed my eyes, I felt some movement and immediately opened them.

"Where do you think you're going?" I asked, seeing Pikachu about to run off. But since it was at such a distance, I couldn't catch it easily. It ran off.

I sighed again and used the Poké Ball to call it back, but Pikachu dodged it and turned around, using Thunder. I dodged it easily.

Even though I dodged it, I was surprised when I heard a sound. I looked to see a wild Spearow, which looked at Pikachu, irritated.

Pikachu rudely turned around, only to see a flock of Spearow behind him.
