"Soka, you can't fly today, maybe some other time. For now, let Zilvra take you to the cabin for a good rest," Lynch said apologetically to the Angel. "I have to discuss some matters with the boatman."
Though a bit unhappy, Soka obediently complied, which might be a characteristic of Celestial Creatures. If it were a demon's offspring, whatever you asked her to do, she'd likely do the opposite.
Van Dijk eyed the approaching Lynch. "Young man, what brings you here? You should be in the cabin with that pretty girl. This old man doesn't need help steering the boat."
"I'm not here to help; I have no actual sailing experience," Lynch said, standing upwind of Van Dijk to avoid the clouds of smoke he exhaled. "I just wanted to ask, when did Druids start appearing around here?"
"Druids?" The old sailor furrowed his brow. "Why? Are those Druids causing you trouble? They're a real handful, I tell you."
