Although Lynch was not very proficient in Charm Spells, the language of a Mage inherently has an effect akin to a Magic Spell. Macken the Knight's thoughts completely followed Lynch's words as he began to attempt to recall the glorious past he once had.
"Pick up this sword and swing it with force," Lynch said. "Even if you can no longer serve the Paladin team, you must remain loyal to yourself. Now, swing it, and you will regain your past strength."
After speaking, Lynch held up the sword in front of Macken with his left hand (only with his left hand could Lynch manage to lift this weapon). Macken, as if hypnotized, gripped the sword hilt tightly with his fingers and then slowly stood up.
The great sword traced a circle in the air, and the rust on it fell away like snowflakes. Macken howled at the sky, but due to exerting too much effort, no sound came from his throat.
Then, as if he suddenly awoke, he looked at Lynch with confusion, "Did you cast a Spell on me?"
