Lily Turner was hoping for some affection here, but she kept getting interrupted, which really annoyed Easton Holmes, though he didn't show it on the surface.
"You better answer the phone, or they'll get anxious," Lily said, clearly delighted. Although she didn't laugh out loud, the joy on her face was unmistakable.
Seeing her like this, already irate Easton gritted his teeth, "I don't need your reminder, I'm not deaf yet."
He raised his other hand, pinched her cheek, then sat up straight. But he still didn't release her hands, continuing to hold them tightly.
She thought her hands would be free, but things didn't turn out the way she expected.
Lily glared angrily at the man who held her stubbornly, but then she saw he was about to answer the phone, so she didn't argue further.
"Grandfather!"
The caller was Callix Linton. If it had been anyone else, Easton wouldn't have been as polite.
