The man was still looking down at her from a superior position, but he did not say anything else; instead, his gaze fell on the thermos she was holding in her hand. A faint smile appeared on his distinctively angular face as he asked, "Did you bring me some food?"
She looked down at the thermos she had been holding tightly to keep it upright, preventing its contents from spilling out even while sitting in the hospital room. Without saying much, she placed the thermos on the table. "You eat it by yourself; I'm going to call the doctor for you."
With that, she stood up, ready to walk toward the door.
Considering the man had moved so abruptly earlier, she wasn't sure if his wound had reopened, and since he had removed his pillow, the doctor needed to come over to continue administering his IV.
Before she could take a step, the man grasped her hand, fixing his gaze on her as he asked, "If I call the doctor, will you come back to keep me company?"
