Almost immediately, Yan Xinxin heard a pained whimper from little Chenxi.
She quickly put down the vegetables in her hands and strode toward the living room.
Bright red rose petals were scattered all over the floor, and little Chenxi was kneeling on the ground, her large, glassy eyes brimming with tears.

Mu Qianshui softly apologized and comforted her. The way she referred to herself as "Mom" made Yan Xinxin freeze for a moment, slightly taken aback.
"Mama?"
Little Chenxi, tears still hanging from her eyes and her fluffy brows furrowed in confusion, looked at Mu Qianshui with a puzzled expression.
"Papa said that Sister Xinxin is Xixi's mama. Sister Qianshui isn't Xixi's mama. Sister Qianshui is lying to Xixi."
The little one spoke straightforwardly, oblivious to the complexities of the adult world, only knowing that one is one, and two is two.
