Bai Zhi'er turned around contentedly, only to see Bai Yaoyu pushing aside the leaves and finding her.
"Sister, who were you just talking to?"
Bai Zhi'er shook her head, her voice soft and sweet: "I was calling Uncle Wuzi, but I couldn't find him anywhere."
Bai Yaoyu walked over and took the little one's hand: "Uncle Wuzi just came back to look for us. Let's go, something happened to the Fang family; we should return first."
The siblings had just exited the woods and hadn't yet seen Fang Youzhen's figure when they heard her exclaim with joy: "Father, you're awake!"
Bai Yaoyu was startled and hurriedly pulled Bai Zhi'er along quickly.
They saw General Fang, who had been deathly pale and ashen-faced, now lying on Fang Youzhen's lap, his eyes already open.
He looked around, his gaze sweeping over Bai Zhi'er's small, round face.
General Fang showed confusion, his voice weak: "Where... am I?"
