Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Lamborghini

School

In the past few days, Teacher Wu sent her a few messages, asking why she hadn't been attending class.

From the tone of the words, Yuwei could sense Teacher Wu's care for her.

But she could only respond vaguely.

"Today, one of the students is staying back to rearrange the desks and chairs in the multimedia room," Teacher Wu's voice remained as gentle and pleasing as ever.

Ye Yuwei felt the gaze like flowing water resting on her.

"I'll do it!" She raised her hand.

Soon, the multimedia room that was bustling with people earlier was left with only Teacher Wu and her.

"Thank you, Yuwei."

"It's no trouble at all, and thank you for your concern these past few days."

Ye Yuwei noticed that today the scent of Teacher Wu's perfume had been changed to a more delicate C note.

"Yuwei, if you're truly facing difficulties, you can confide in me."

Looking at Teacher Wu's sincerely caring gaze, Ye Yuwei felt a warm sensation inside.

"Thank you, Teacher Wu. I'm doing better now."

Teacher Wu smiled slightly, glancing at the books on the desk nearby: "Yuwei, do you usually enjoy reading prose and poetry?"

"I read them occasionally." Ye Yuwei felt a little embarrassed all of a sudden.

In front of this teacher with dual master's degrees, she couldn't help but feel insecure.

"I also quite like poetry. When I was studying abroad in college, my favorite place to go was the library." Teacher Wu leaned against a table, smiling softly at Yuwei.

The evening breeze drifted in through the window, gently lifting her silky hair.

At this moment, I suddenly felt like I was watching the protagonist in a movie.

"Teacher Wu, you're amazing—so scholarly and even studied abroad." Ye Yuwei looked at her with admiration.

"Yuwei, have you learned how to dance before?"

"How did you know?"

"By looking at your legs. They're either athletic or trained by dancing."

Teacher Wu smiled faintly, her gaze landing on Ye Yuwei's long, straight, yet firm and muscular legs.

Today, Yuwei was wearing a pale blue pleated short skirt, exuding both youthfulness and vibrant energy.

"Haha, aren't my legs pretty unsightly? Dancing has swollen the muscles up." Ye Yuwei laughed with a hint of self-mockery.

"Not at all; they're gorgeous. Plenty of girls would envy these legs." Teacher Wu said admiringly, her eyes revealing a hint of appreciation.

"Teacher Wu, your figure is truly the best! Every time you walk into class, it's not just the boys; even the girls can't help but stare at you!"

As soon as Ye Yuwei said this, she realized she might've been inappropriate.

How could a student speak to their teacher like this? This wasn't the same as joking around in her dance troupe.

"Haha, my mother is a dance teacher. I began learning ballet when I was little, so maybe that's why my posture is good."

Seeing that Teacher Wu wasn't offended, Ye Yuwei relaxed a little: "Then why didn't you continue with it?"

"I got injured when I was thirteen and couldn't dance anymore." Teacher Wu's expression dimmed, a faint sadness flickering in her eyes.

Ye Yuwei suddenly felt her heart sting, as if something had tugged at it. She hurriedly approached to comfort her: "Teacher Wu, I'm sorry. I reminded you of something painful."

"It's fine. It's all in the past."

Teacher Wu straightened up, moving away from the table she was leaning against. Only then did Ye Yuwei realize how close they were.

Both of them were towering figures, nearly pressed together, causing her face to flush red.

"Damn, I can't believe I'm blushing. This hasn't happened since I drank too much! And now, I'm blushing because of a woman?"

Ye Yuwei tried her hardest not to let her mind wander, but odd, fleeting images kept flashing in her head.

"It's getting late. Yuwei, let me give you a ride back." Thankfully, Teacher Wu broke the silence and dispelled the awkward atmosphere.

Ye Yuwei hesitated for a moment but eventually smiled: "Thank you very much."

But upon seeing Teacher Wu's car, Ye Yuwei instantly regretted it.

She hadn't expected it to be a Lamborghini.

During a modeling job arranged by her agency, she'd once seen this model—it was called "Sixth Element."

"Could it be all tutoring teachers are this wealthy? Or…" Sitting in the car, Ye Yuwei felt a little uneasy.

"This was bought for me by my family." Perhaps sensing Ye Yuwei's discomfort, Teacher Wu smiled as she explained.

"Teacher, you're a typical rich and beautiful woman!"

"Haha!" Teacher Wu chuckled but didn't answer directly.

When they were one street away from the community center, Ye Yuwei asked Teacher Wu to let her out.

Truthfully, Ye Yuwei had her concerns. The area near the center's entrance always had a few odd spectators hanging around at all hours.

As a relatively unknown idol, and also a woman, getting dropped off wasn't a big deal.

But Teacher Wu's flashy car was just too conspicuous. If it stopped at the center's entrance, it would undoubtedly create a huge commotion.

Besides, she didn't want Teacher Wu to find out she worked as a minor idol.

In her mind, many people didn't truly understand what idol work entailed, often associating it with shallow stereotypes.

"Goodbye, Teacher Wu!"

"Goodbye!" Wu Jingwen smiled warmly as she waved Yuwei off.

Watching Yuwei's youthful and graceful figure fade into the neon-lit street,

Wu Jingwen's lips curled into a subtly meaningful smile.

Casually, she tapped the car's music player, and a song filled with yearning and indomitable spirit began to flow.

If Yuwei were still there, she'd surely be astonished.

Because it was none other than her N-Team's group song "Star's Track."

Although Yuwei didn't want anyone to know she'd been dropped off by a Lamborghini,

Fate had other plans.

As she got out of the car, two women carrying shopping bags across the street caught sight of her.

"Mengchen, isn't that Ye Yuwei?" Zhang Yu, who had been admiring the car, looked stunned.

"Indeed, it is!" Xu Mengchen was equally astonished.

"Who's the woman with her? Do you recognize her? Is she one of the troupe's supporters?" Zhang Yu asked.

"Most likely not. You know how wealthy those 'solo devotee kings' are. Maybe she just found someone new."

At this moment, Xu Mengchen felt a deep surge of jealousy, her entire body uncomfortable, like countless ants crawling through her bones.

"Hmph! She acts all innocent, but in reality, she's the most shameless." Xu Mengchen scoffed coldly.

Zhang Yu also felt indescribably agitated, her chest tight and brimming with resentment.

"Sister Qingjia's solo devotee king owns a Lamborghini too," Zhang Yu commented bitterly for reasons even she couldn't quite grasp.

"Ha! Her? Look at her—hardly worth comparing to Sister Qingjia. Who does she think she is? That guy's probably just playing with her," Xu Mengchen snapped sarcastically, unable to contain her anger.

"Exactly. Maybe she's just sleeping around, and the guy happened to drop her off. Didn't you see how she avoided going to the center's entrance?" Zhang Yu said viciously, her seemingly innocent eyes flashing malice.

"Hmph! Maybe we should drop a hint when we return. Those stalker 'fans' who love digging into our private lives would jump at info like this. Who knows what interesting dirt might emerge." Xu Mengchen gritted her teeth in frustration.

The two disheartened women had been utterly thrown off by the spectacle and lost all interest in shopping.

Even the thousand-yuan box of foundation they'd just bought now felt unworthy of showing off to their sisters.
