"Hello, cousin," Kevin said quickly, looking between his mother and Mia, feeling like he was dreaming. Mia was now truly part of his family.
"Mia, why don't you stay for dinner?" Rachel suggested warmly. She was thrilled to have found this niece and wanted to get to know her better.
"Sure, Aunt Rachel. Let me help you." Mia smiled, following Rachel to the kitchen. She glanced at Kevin, feeling a bit uneasy. It would be harder to keep her distance from him now.
During dinner, Rachel kept serving Mia food and asking about her life. Hearing that Mia lived alone, Rachel felt sorry for her and invited her to come over on weekends to avoid being lonely. Mia agreed, and Kevin was thrilled, thinking he would have more chances to see her.
