Blair frowned and looked displeased toward the door, "What's happening outside? Go check it out and tell them to stay quiet!!"
An apprentice promptly responded and hurried out to investigate.
But instead of calming down, the commotion outside escalated dramatically within seconds! The exclamations turned into shrill screams, orderly footsteps transformed into chaotic running and colliding, and even the faint sounds of weapons clashing and spells exploding could be heard!
"Something's wrong..." Blair's face changed suddenly, an ominous feeling in his heart soared to the peak.
Just as he was preparing to go out and check himself—
"Bang!"
The office door, fortified with protective runes, was violently slammed open, and the apprentice who had gone out to investigate stumbled in. His face was ashen, his left shoulder was a bloody mess, and blood had soaked half of his robe, evidently just surviving a life-or-death struggle.
