"Cough!"
Looking at the familiar emotions in Lanice's eyes, Lynch coughed lightly with slight embarrassment, subconsciously avoiding her gaze.
He had originally thought that after the long passage of one or two hundred years, she would have long let go of the youthful persistence from her girlhood. But now it seems, he had indeed oversimplified things.
He hurriedly diverted his gaze and awkwardly changed the subject: "Aren't you curious how I found you?"
Seeing his instinctive avoidance, Lanice's bright eyes slightly dimmed, a trace of disappointment flashed through.
But after all, she was no longer that emotionally-driven young girl; she quickly adjusted her mindset, a gentle curve graced her lips once again as she replied softly, "Being able to see you again is already a reason to be happy. The rest...doesn't matter."
So persistent...
Lynch sighed silently once again in his heart.
