The bugged employee NPC, despite having a vacant stare, behaving oddly, and refusing to communicate, would neatly place his tray at the recycling window after "eating," tidy up his clothes, and then walk straight out of the cafeteria.
The whole person looks no different from a normal NPC.
If it weren't for Gu Jinxing discovering his behavior of eating air in the cafeteria, no player running into such a person on the roadside would suspect anything was wrong with him.

The employee walked to the end of a corridor, stopped by a door, and then started banging his head against the wall.
This behavior was very much like how players used to madly dash against the invisible walls at the map's edge.
