Allegra's eyes darted from one spot to another, making sure to never cross Arabella's gemstones.
The ground wouldn't have split beneath their feet upon eye contact, but that was the impression the vampiress gave should that condition manifest.
"Did something else happen after… Well, you know?" Arabella leaned a little forward, her eyebrows higher up her forehead.
"No, nothing happened!" Allegra shook her head profusely, "I don't know what you mean,"
If one thing at all was obvious, it was that Allegra was terrible at lying, or at least denial of facts.
"Do you still blame yourself for what Edna did?"
"No! That's… We don't even know if it was Edna that did that, do we?" the vampiress spoke fast and seemed to lose all control over her voice.
At some parts it would be so hushed, Arabella had to lean even closer just to hear her, but at other parts, it would rise so loud, its ringing lingered in the young woman's ears.
