The man hesitated before finally answering.
"Oh! Well, thanks for the info." Eren glanced at the man for a moment before turning his attention back to the Iceburst Stones.
"Sorry about everything. What's your name?" Armin asked with a sheepish smile.
"Ah… My name is Darian Voss."
"Oh! Darian Voss. My name is Arm—uh, Deku. Don't worry, we'll save your family and make sure you're safe. But for that, we need your cooperation."
Darian hesitated, uncertainty flickering in his eyes.
"Please trust us," Armin said, his face full of determination.
"Yes," Mikasa nodded in agreement.

Two Days Later
Underground City beneath Mitras, inside Wall Sina
"This is really dangerous, Eren. Are you sure about this?" Armin asked, glancing around warily.
They were deep in the underground city, a place where crime was rampant, and people could be killed at any moment.
"Yeah, don't worry," Eren replied, his rare serious expression making Armin even more uneasy.
After rescuing Darian's family, they had to find a place where the Military Police couldn't reach them. That part was easy, but getting Darian to act as their mole was trickier. To maintain his cover, they fabricated a story about his family being killed by bandits.
To make it more convincing, Darian even broke his own hand, claiming he had been attacked by a group of wild bears. The cover story was Armin's idea, but the self-inflicted injury? That was Eren's.
But that wasn't their focus today. They had received intel that Kenny would be in the underground city, and they couldn't pass up the opportunity.
"I'm still surprised that Mikasa didn't come. How did you manage that?" Armin asked curiously.
"Hmm… I didn't tell her," Eren admitted with a frown.
"WHAT?!" Armin shouted in disbelief.
"Shhh!" Eren hissed, as several people around them shot them strange looks.
"Why didn't you tell her?" Armin still couldn't understand. Was he worried about her? But he brought me, so that's unlikely…
"It's nothing, really. Mom has been getting worried about us, so I left her out of it."
Armin stared at him, unconvinced. That's such a lame excuse. If anything, Aunt Carla would be even more worried if Mikasa wasn't with him.
Before Armin could say anything, a rough voice interrupted them.
"Hey, kids. What are you doing in a place like this? Hehe," a group of men sneered as they surrounded them.

At the Orphanage
Mikasa searched for Eren but couldn't find him anywhere. Her frown deepened.
"Oh! Mikasa, you're still here?" Carla asked, surprised as she passed by.
"Aunt, what do you mean?"
"Huh? Eren told me you had gone out to get some study materials," Carla said, looking confused.
"Gone? Without me?" Mikasa mumbled, her expression darkening. A strange sense of unease crept up her spine.

Underground City
Annie moved cautiously through the streets, her sharp eyes scanning the area. She had come on a mission—to uncover the location of the true ruler of the walls.
And her key to finding them?
Kenny.
