At the guild, the three adventurers leave the two pups at the guild stable, right before enter the building.
"I will go take our payment and register you for your tamer permit. Go get some food in the meantime." said Bron before departing with all their loot.
The other two move to a table. The table had a few papers and a pencil.
"What do you want to eat?" asked Kaly.
"Stew."
"Ok then. I will take the same."
Kaly takes a paper and writes their order on it.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh, this papers will send our order to the kitchen." said Kaly before the paper disappeared
"I heard it's done with a magical object invented by one of the great heroes."
"Interesting."
At the counter, Bron finished the paperwork and received the payment for the quest and loot.
He moves away from the counter walking towards his party.
"Hello there buddy." a huge man in heavy plate armor and a huge sword on his back yelled.
Bron turns around to look for who called him.
"Hello, sir Alexander. Long time no see."
"Yeah, happy to see you too. How you doing this days?"
"I recently found another party member, we just finished our first mission. It's the young boy that recently joined."
"What a coincidence. We have a new face on our team too, the young lady that froze the entire arena in her test. Be sure to take care of that kid."
"Sure will."
"By the way, are you going to join this season's extermination?"
"Nothing would stop me from joining."
"Good to hear. I need to take care of some business now, see you around."
"Have a nice day sir."
The two part ways. Brom goes to the table where food is waiting.
"Everything's done. What did you get me?"
"Pork ribs. How much did we make this time."
"Thank you. 9 midi, enough to live a well for a few months. We each get 3."
Brom hands a small bag to each of them.
"What about the permit?" asked Leo.
"The paperwork is done, you just need to do some tests tomorrow. Don't worry I paid for everything."
"How much was it, I will give it back."
"Don't worry about it, it wasn't that much."
Leo looks down at the table, saddened.
"Pay for my food and we are even, ok."
"Understood." said Leo.
"Anyway let's eat before it gets cold."
"Any new quest?" asked Kaly.
"I saw one that might be good. A goblin den, the reward was 5 proli per goblin killed, we could probably get 1 or 2 midi before the looting."
"Should be easy, we should take that next time."
"Hopefully it will be still available. Would be a good catch."
"Are goblins easy to fight."
"If you are careful. They are no stronger then a grade 2 beast. Though the leader could reach grade 4 in bigger groups, but this time it was confirmed that it's a grade 3 shaman."
"In a few days we should take it. Any objections."
"Nothing from me, I am free all week. What about you Leo."
"I have nothing else planed."
Brom takes the last bite of his meal and stands up.
"Ok then, I need to go get my equipment checked, see you tomorrow."
Brom leaves the table, exiting the building.
"By the way, Leo, do you want some armor? I see that you don't have that much protective gear other then your gloves and shoes. If you want I can introduce you to a good blacksmith." said Kaly before taking a spoonful of her stew.
"Can he repair cloaks too."
"Sure can, it's a pretty easy task even for an apprentice. After we eat I will show you his shop."
After a while, they finish eating, Leo paying for his and Bron's meals, as he promised.
The two leave the guild, Leo following Kaly around the city for a while, entering a long, dark alleyway, after a little more walking, Kaly stopped in front of a door with a sign above it, which read (Dwerven wears).
"We've reached the store." said Kaly before opening the door, taking a step inside.
As soon as she entered a raspy voice was heard from deep inside the house.
"Who is it? I don't do business with just anyone."
A man, a little taller then Leo appears from behind a door. His face red and his hair and beard a mess.
"Hello, mr. Enda, I've come to introduce you to a teammate."
"That small boy? He is even smaller then me, what can he do as an adventurer."
"He might seam weak, but I can attest to his strength. We just ended a quest in which we fought a grade 4 beast that was nearing grade 5."
"You don't say?... Boy get closer and show me your palm and weapon." said the man angrily
Leo does as the man says, taking of one of his gloves showing a hand with small cuts and calluses, his dagger being not much better, having small dents and scratches, the edge being slightly dull at the first sight.
"Hmm... It might be true, you are a fighter, a resilient one at least, if not a strong one. The dagger could get some sharpening though." said the man quietly in a calm voice.
"Are you a dwerf?" asked Leo out of nowhere.
"Half dwerf, humans have strange tastes which create people like me."
For a few moments, no one makes a sound.
"Anyway what do you want?" said the man braking the silence.
"I want some armor, a light set and I want some repairs to my cloak and dagger."
"I will leave now, I have some business to attend to at the church." said Kaly before exiting.
"Well that was quick of her. Anyway material you would like, orc skin, tusk bear hide, cow leather?"
"Anything that does well against piercing and doesn't burn easily, all while being easy to move with."
"Oh, an assassin type then. Quick on your feet then. How about orc skin, strong but light, I have a few chest pieces that were treated with blaze frog glue, they should do well after I resize them a little."
"Sounds good, I will take it."
"For that you will need to wait until tomorrow, for now give me your cloak and dagger, I can patch them up and then you can leave."
Leo takes of his cloak, handing it to him together with the dagger.
The man leaves the cloak on a table, taking the dagger to a grinding stone. He stops and looks at the it for a few moments.
"Hmm... How are you even cutting with this, even my hammer is sharper then it."
"I used to fight with my hands, and when I use the dagger I usually use lightning with it."
"That explains the cuts on your hands. I will see what I can do with it, no promicess."
He presses the knife on the stone, starting to paddle at it for a few uninterupted minutes. Leo stands there, looking at the small sparks, entering in something like a trance, his left eye starting to turn a few shades closer to red.
The man stops, awaking Leo in surprise.
"This should do for now." says the man while cutting at a piece of leather "Next time try not to get it so dull, it can damage the blade."
He gets up and takes the cloak, leaving the dagger in it's place. He looks at it, turning it around again and again.
"You sure you don't want a new one, this looks like it was left in fire and thrown in a barrel with blades."
"Yes, it was from my brother."
The dwerf looks at it for a few more moments.
"Fine, but it will not look like new, and you will need to leave it here until tomorrow. Understood?"
"Understood." said Leo while picks up his dagger and tying it to his pants. "What about the money."
"Bring one midi when you come to pick everything up. You can go now." said the man while shewing him away.
Leo exits the smithy, the sun starting to go down for the day. He starts walking around, thinking where should he sleep. After a long walk around the city, he starts to smell stew, to his left, an inn. He looks at his bag with money.
"I guess I will sleep like a human this time." said Leo before entering the inn.
